I can't see how anybody would think the Defender should be banned for chassis width.
It meets USRA, ISRA, and the FNCS chassis width rules.

Yeah and tracks ordered them because they met all the guidelines and were deemed legal. All seemed well until they swept the podium so fast they want to ban it. Ha-ha.
Next race we are at how good are the odds the whole top five is Mossetti?? At least there is a spec class designated for the other brand chassis so they will still be good for something.

I measured all my X25 chassis. Some are wider than 3.250 at the rear pans.
Interesting.

I did have a nightmare last night that the Defender was banned at a national race I showed up to for chassis width.
Then I woke up and realized it meets all the spec width rules in USRA, ISRA, and the FNCS.

I'm planning on getting back into a lot more flexi racing. Especially next year.
Flexi style racing is my roots. I've been missing it and the Mosseti chassi has helped fuel my interest again.

You'd better add the C43 chassis to your stable - unless of course you don't mind taking a hiding.

My teammate has one. From his test results we decided it's not needed in our arsenal.

Mosseti swept the podium in FL yesterday. Won at USRA nats. Won at FNCS. Winning numerous local races. Proof is in the pudding. ☺

We are forgetting something here or overlooking it. Just because it's legal with the width issue in the ISRA, USRA, and Ralph's thing (can't remember the letters) doesn't automatically make it legal with the FSCS. It's in black and white in our rules that it can not be any wider that said anoun. It is clearly wider. I know one track might be pulling out of the series if this don't get resolved.

Too wide?
File or grind it till it meets FSCS rules.
Don't make this harder than it has to be.

Definitely a problem. Unfortunately.
Some JK X-25s will have problems passing tech when measuring the back of the rear pans.

I'm wondering why any flexi chassis is wider than 3.25". How did that happen?

I believe they run them in GT1 class on a regular.
If I were to race GT1 I would run the X25 with. .025" pans over the other JK chassis.
I won a summer series championship and three races with it.
Of course it's the JK spec class.

I'm still amazed the chassi width rule has never been a problem on the rear pans of some of the JK X-25s since they have been legal in the FL series for a long time now.
It's a known fact by racers who measured chassis before. A few series tech directors informed me of this problem in their series. It's a known problem but they check all chassis just not the Mossetti. It's never been a problem in our series since the X25 has been out. Interesting!!!
All of a sudden now the width rule is a problem for the Mossetti Defender when it was a rocket in practice before it dominated the race.
If FL wants to stay in the stone ages and think 3.250" width is better than what all the other top racing series use, 83mm, fine.
It just needs to be enforced on all chassis.
I have a ton of JK X-25 chassis. Some illegal and some are legal width rule.
I'm going to have fun racing the X25 in upcoming FL races.

Dz,
What's the measurement of a X25 center with .025" pans when they are spread apart?

My championship undefeated LMP is 3.257.
My brand new one is 3.270.
One is 3.274.
One is 3.243.
One is 3.240.
One is 3.248.
All but the brand new one have been through tech and raced.

Just another thing I've found interesting the past couple years.
Biscuit and I suggested a couple years ago on not using front wheels on cars like most series I've raced in out of town.
We were ridiculed and it was considered just plain dumb. The front wheel rule stayed. No biggie to me. Just seemed weird.
Then the C-43 came out with no front up-rights for front wheels.
Front wheel rule was changed immediately.
I doubt the rules would of been changed if another chassis came out first with no uprights for front wheels.
I know front wheels and chassis width are not even close in comparison. I just like pointing out facts.
