The dreaded racers inspection line also known as "the Room of Doom" in some 'circles'.

What and when you need to post.

Minimum of three pictures. (Five for Stock 36D)
- One of chassis top, one chassis bottom, one Body on or about 3/4 angle shot (or Rail only).

- Close-up shot (macro) of both K&B motor tabs if you are entering the "Stock 36D" class

- More than minimum preferred, share your cars, be judged by your peers.

Description:
- Motor
- Chassis
- Tire sizes
- Body (or Rail)
- Car weight
- Class you are entering this car in.

Registration and the Inspection Line closes Oct. 25, 2017.

Posting of your car here for inspection is an official registration.

Don't let those rear tire widths hold up the line.

They are shown as 'Cheater Slicks" but were narrowed to .400 after these pictures were taken.

"other than that ... it looks ok to me". "sign it up".

Here's my entry for "Big 36D."

Fun lil' rail machined by Mag Gizmo and available on eBay.

Powered by a box stock Cox 3500 Nascar.

I had trouble keeping the rear axle width reasonable, not enough room to fit in a set screw or taper lock spur gear with the rear wheels I chose to use. Ended up with a 1/8" solder on spur, a 50 tooth Tradeship steel gear! Matched it up to a Champion 14 tooth taper lock pinion (3.57:1).

Up front is a  Classic 1/8" guide and matching Classic 12 gram weight.

Ball bearings on the rear axle, Pro-Track #232 rear tires ground down to 1.265"x.570", 1.0" front tires.

3.220" rear width, 9.125" OAL

Currently weighs in at 161 grams, may be more in race trim after a few test runs if the front end won't stay down.

WTG Tom !

Looks good...

1- Check tire width on the T-Bird. It needs to be .400" at the contact patch for wide shoulder sidewall tires.

2- The Dodge is eligible to run in the Vintage Stock class.

Pictures are much better, Thanks.

Making a statement early on Tom, sure these are gonna perform great :D

The Fiat & rail are particularly sweet! Did you shape the laminations on the RAM motor?

Thanks Paul yes I ground the lamms on the ram motor it was slightly modified & had a dead arm so I thought it was worth a try I did them similar to what Gene Husting did on his impossible car in the R & C mag late 65 early 66 I had the comm trued & magnet zapped so it has plenty of power now.

silver colored springs are not OEM Factory springs.

Good call Foamy... I missed that.

I think the silver plated springs only came on Champion motors.

Tom, Do you time to change them out before shipping.?

Yes, the copper/goldish colored springs.

--

It seems like there are a lot of 36D motors on ebay selling them less brushes and springs.

Maybe from the "pull out" days. :o

You would think they might put the springs back on. ^_^

Don't forget that modern brushes are allowed. I stuck with the original 'pull outs'. :good:

Thanks Bob yeah I have seen alot of motors like that they might be pull outs or maybe the spring & brushes have been removed because they can sell for nearly the price of some of these motors.
