BPR is a quarter mile at 16 volts.
Past Proxy cars were road racers that I got very lucky with.

Gears on stocker are 16/48.
We were running 36d powered hardbody nascars at BP for a while.
Bought a .091 reamer to do pinions for the others.

Boxerdog, it's too late now but a hopup deal from the olden daze for the 196's is a 6 volt arm from a 65. Good bearings too. Was going to do a dragster similar to yours, but lazyness reared its ugly head...

Thanks GB, It was a fun build until it came to the clear coat. Trouble all the way. My fault, can't leave well enough alone.

One more Big 36D tomorrow. Finish painting body and driver.... No clear on this one!

I know about laziness, I can see I should have built some new(er) stuff this year. Gator Bob made me dig that stuff out of the closet!!

Hey Paul, This one was fun, kept the easiest for last. Only a few mods and a new body. The old Dodge A/FX is going to sit it out, just wasn't up to it this year.

The A/FX Dodge car is nice....

Down boy, down.

Bob, I liked that car from day one, so don't get me wrong....

I really like what the "real" drag racers out here are doing with hardbodies. I am not a drag racer at all, that's why I am sending box cutters to a gunfight this year, but I have seen some of the most creative modeling you could imagine that the locals have done with model kits. You seldom see a lexan body car any more. Some of these cars have "dents" and "rust" to resemble barn finds and rat rods, some have spectacular paint jobs, and there is a good selection of kits out there to start with. Just a thought for the future.

Here's a rant. Cost cutting mfers using petg plastic instead of real lexan! Paint scratches really easy, and the bods fall apart or XPLODE on impact.
Fiddling with the cars before I threw them in the mail and the paint was scratching off. The lexan body no problem....

Good point Dave. Hardbodies are more in keeping with the vintage spirit. I for one would support using model kits or resin for the Vintage classes. On the other hand, for Exhibition classes anything goes.

Oh I've seen your box cutters run...gunfighters beware!

Molded hard bodies have a level of detail that can't be duplicated in vac pulled. I only saw drag cars in the mags.

Didn't they run bodies like the red Impala?

I love models and they trim out great for slots. I never really defined it clearly in my head but after running Cox cars and parts were always lost Vac was in, heavy molded was out.

For drags there is no smash'um up derby so they are 'right'. I guess you can wash those in the sink after every race just like pulled bodies.

Being new to hardbodies and wheelie bars, there is a new learning curve .... to go straight :sarcastic_hand:

We can do hardbody only classes.

Figure you know to wash mold release spray off, scuff, wipe with alcohol, mask, wipe again, spray. Helps on Butyrate and PETG

The Lexan Pactra/Tamia paint sticks ok, don't know about water colors. .

It does seem like modeling skills building badass concours rides is a big part of the Drag scene.

I guess if you're running dial or index the added weight is a non-issue.
