I've finally gotten the body mounts finished, the body trimmed for mounting and mounted:
She's really LOW
My "interior mold motor" is mounted in the chassis. Now I have to get the interior heated and molded over the motor..........

Rick, I think something happened at your photo hosting site. None of your photos in this thread are showing. They were okay previously.

Thanks Rick, while we are on the subject. What are the pros and cons of Photobucket ? I have never used that service.
Posted 27 May 2018 - 10:16 AM
I haven't gotten an email reply from Photobucket (PB) but my pictures seem OK.......for now.
Martin,
PB used to be cheap, reliable and easy to use. Now it's the opposite of all those things.

Time to trim out the cockpit and openings for the velocity stacks and cooling fan:
Leveling up the velocity stack body openings. I wanted to keep sanding marks off the body. Silver tends to show up sanding marks:
All trimmed out and ready to fit the Russkit sidewinder interior into an inline car:
A empty motor setup is beefed up with 1/16" brass strip and covered with teflon tape. The interior is taped into the car, the car is held upside down (heat rises and will melt the body.....ask me how I know this ) and the can is heated with a soldering iron. A mirror under the car allows me to see the progress:
Stock interior on the left and modified with a "motor bump" on the right. Both interiors are True Scale repops:
I've been fretting doing these mods. Now that this is out of the way I hope to get things moving.

Seriously, Rick, I'd let you do surgery on me, any day
Your work sets the bar and just keeps raising it

Thanks Pablo, since your "healthy as a horse", we won't be trying my surgical ability on you any time soon.
Speaking of horses, actually horsepower, I finished up my motor. My friend Larry Rogers supplied the motor back in the day. He drove me around in his cool ride, a Ford Fairlane 500 like this one................
...............powered by a solid lifter, high performance motor like this one:
So I decided to paint the motor can a dark metallic blue. I also added a sticker to recognize the armature winder just like Thorp and others did with their arms back in the day..........THANKS STEVE OKEEFE!
The color is actually a nice dark metallic blue.......my pics just stink.

Rick, your photos are much better than you give yourself credit for.

My opinion is, there is nothing wrong with your pics, they are world class.
If the shade of color isn't representative, try a filter.
