If this had been proposed by someone other than Mike, who is buds with all the right people, on the BOD, a paying advertiser and a moderator on this forum, this guide flag would never be approved by the IRRA. Never even considered. As it is it's a slam dunk for approval.

And if anyone else attacked fellow forum members like Mike routinely does, they would be banned. Years ago I almost got kicked off for much tamer behavior than Mike's.

Congrats to the OP for creating an imaginary crap blizzard in summer :diablo:

If the original idea of Retro was to bring back racing as it was at a particular point in history then why not limit items used to ones that were available then? With the only exception being things like motors, bodies or other items that might not still be in production or considered a collectible item.

It's been stated many times--"retro" was not meant to be "vintage"!  It's a NEW form of racing based on the basic wire and brass chassis of the 60's.  It's intent was for people to begin building chassis to have fun with these retro class's. It's actually grown larger than anyone even suspected it would.  I for one truly enjoy building chassis and racing what I build.  Many of us do--while others buy chassis to race. It's all to enjoy---Happy New Year all!!

the question is does mike really care? people complain about a $10 guide, but what about spending $200 on a chassis? how is any of this cost effective?

Retro racing has been around for some 15 years or so. It might be different, but it sure isn't still "new."  :sarcastic_hand:
