When I worked for a slot racing wholesaler when I was in high school and college back in the day we couldn't keep Dynamic RTR's in stock.

Pepe, how much of Dynamic's "Engineering" would you say Jack Garcia was directly responsible for? when he came over to Kapps Raceway he brought a lot of new stuff including handling bodies and flex front ends, Moo and other things that swept the Phoenix area. It sounded like he was the idea man while guys like Bruce Erickson were just the young triggermen. I enjoyed talking to Jack about all the things going on in SoCal, I eventually got there a few years later when I turned 15 but Jack was gone by then.

Jesse,
Jack Garcia was mostly a body mold maker. Hiram Johnson was the idea man for the aluminum chassis. Garcia came in the company in 1966, at a time when virtually all the aluminum chassis parts were already on the market. Garcia likely kept Johnson aware of technical progress in R&C, then Car Model racing series, but Johnson would then design and make the tooling for the new parts.
When Johnson went into RC car manufacturing, Garcia moved to Al Riggen's shop and made bodies, bearing his name as well as that of Riggen.
Garcia was also involved with RC racing and eventually retired from both hobbies altogether.

Thanks Pepe, you being there in LA would have had a better grasp on all this.
Jess, take care.

Don,
it sure looks like the same color as used by Dynamic on their McLaren RTR, so I'd say yes, it is original. Then I remember, we do have it too as a RTR but featuring the "evo" chassis with brass side bits... so much for my memory.
As far as the listing showing "red", that, I have never seen, but again, "never say never"!
Must be the Orange body running this auction up. Sold for $281

Cool box-a-bits.
Got any 26D (204 or 211) Chassis or RMM for sale?
Prefer RMM sidewinder, but inline ok.

Steve,
I'm going to go through that box soon and post the parts I would like to sell. I have the chassis kit you're interested in.

Has anybody ever actually seen the Ferrari F1 V12 mentioned above, with a GE motor?
Just checked PdL's list and he's got this car listed, along with an Eagle-Westlake with a 16D. Have never seen any of these cars, live or in photos.
Also, if they did exist, were they fitted with Dynamic's own handling bodies, or ??
Thanks for any info,
Don

Besides the obvious mirage the only other of those GE cars I have come across has been the Charger which was sold in the GE rolling chassis box with an added sticker, suggesting to me that it may have been an attempt to offload dead stock GE chassis kits.Hi,

I've seen a flyer for the P4 but never a boxed car & all the McLaren coupes have been of the floppy brass anglewinder variety.
Wanted; MPC Scarab windshield.

Thanks Lee,
I've seen the Harvey Aluminum with a 26D and pretty sure I've seen a Lotus 49 with a 16D, but really not sure about all the above, except, like you, the Mirage - and maybe a McLaren M6.

I have always wanted this Ferrari P4 Dynamic car, and now I have one with the help of a friend.
I will start a new post on just this car, as I have just finished the restoration.

Dave,
as far as we know, the Thompson Indy car kit only ever came with the Dynamic FT26 "Mad Hornet" motor, first painted purple, then with a nickel plated can.
The bracket for the FT36D motor is different and as you can see, someone cut into the guide tongue to make it fit.
Here is how it came, in kit form only, never in RTR form:

I suppose you could be right that the motor was a 26D. Have to look. Still have it, and it is definitely metallic purple. The guide tongue was cut when I changed from the drop front end to the solid tongue. Never liked that system. I am the soul owner of this car. No one else has ever owned it. And, like any other slot car, it went through some changes.

I have never seen the Eagle or the F1 Ferrari either Don, would love to see pics. Another Dynamic car to recreate.
Dave, can you show the top side of your car?
Is it a case of the body got damaged, so it was changed. Motor blew, so it was changed. You did not like the hinged drop arm, so it was changed. Wheels were changed also. ????
With respect Dave, I do not see anything stock factory Dynamic on your car. I thought all Harvey kits came with the body painted metallic dark green? had not seen the dark blue PDL shows either.
Did you paint yours Dave ?

Rehco had/has clear repops of the Dynamic Harvey Aluminum body packaged as a Lancer. One of those would allow the color of your choice.
I intend to live forever! So far, so good.

Bill, if it is from the Lancer mold ? The nose is much shorter.
You would really want a repop of the Dynamic style. But trying to match that factory color would ( for me ) be a challenge.
I did restore a very damaged body that Matt D gifted me. It had all kinds of damage mostly in the front end, fixed it, then I made numbers and stripes from dacal paper and vinyl.
It now has a front number 7,but have not taken a new pic.

The body was the Harvey Aluminum Special from the beginning. Yes, the body on it now is a repop. I changed the front end to the solid tongue, couldn't stand the floppy one. Front wheels may not be original. Tires are not. They are the usual hardware store hard O-rings I used on everything. The rear wheels and tires definitely are not. The question is if the original motor was a 36D or 26D. Looks to me like the length of the opening is too short for the 36, but that either motor would fit as to diameter.
I can't remember the kit coming in a plastic box. Pretty sure it was cardboard.
