Well, like anything that had only one owner, the history is pretty much known. I bought the car from Elmhurst Slot Raceway. I had moseyed in after work at the hardware store next to the track. The owner wanted to show me the newest and hottest kit, that he had just received that day. (typical sales pitch, works on me every time.) I had just been payed, so I shelled out. Took it home, assembled it the next day and brought it to the track the next night. Couldn't get it to go around corners, the front end was too stuck. So I changed the front tires to hard rubber O-rings, my usual fix for the problem. Didn't get much better. This was my first, (and only Dyno-flex chassis), so I changed the front tongue to the solid one. Mostly solved the problem. Entered a few local Friday night races. Got tired of the front axles getting bent, and changed to shorter axles. Blew the motor gearing up, and replaced it with a K&B I had that I had recently re-wound. And that is how it is today. I would take the body off and shoot some pictures of the brass bracket I made to change to the can drive motor, but the car is already packed up with the other "absolutely keep" stuff to be moved to wherever I end up. The rear tires/wheels were what I had on hand when I resurrected the car about 15 years ago. The body I got from Mike Swiss when he was in La Grange. The original was broken off behind the rear axle. It was dark blue. I didn't save it. And the kit did come in a cardboard box, not the clear plastic one.
And that is what I remember.
