A few months ago I was talking to the mechanic/driver of this exact real 1/1 car you show in the pic. Its a big car.

It belongs to a neighbor where i have my fab shop. He told me the whole history of the Ti-22 and the Shadow connection etc.

We were brainstorming about why the last time he was getting onto the track it violently turned left hard into the wall.

I suspected a differential problem or cold tires and a lot of HP or a combination of all 3.

I am sure yours will handle better. :) Looking good Rick.

Thanks Martin.

I gave up trying to paint all the vent openings in the body flat black with my shakey-quakey paint brush. The vents aren't recessed down into the body but are little blobs sitting on top.  :wacko2:

My mechanical solution to a lack of artistic talent:

After fumbling around trying to line up the line up the rear spoiler, and lacking 3 hands to do it, I used a make shift mechanical fixture. Yikes, what a mess:  :laugh2:

But it all worked out so far:

Whew.........glad that's done.

I get a window of glass, he gets a window of glass.

I get a step, he gets a step.

I get a clock radio, he cannot afford.  Great success!

Looking good Rick!

Thanks Mike.

My 1/32 scale Pro car is finally done. Its small size made it difficult for me to build but I enjoyed every minute of it and I'm happy with the way it turned out:

It kinda - sorta looks like the Can Am car:

Well, at least it is the right color.  :)

I think it looks cool on the track:

Someday I really hope to drive it on a big track and let that Pooch motor scream...............

I'd like to thank Rick Davis for building and preserving such a wonderful car, Steve Deiters for featuring it in detail in his 1971 Car Model Magazine article and Rick's friend Bob Appelle for taking the great digital pictures of the surviving treasure and sharing it with us.

Thank you, Rick took the pictures, I was just the messenger. I was happy to help you get a better view of the original car. How many slot racers have a all original car from 49 years ago sitting in a box in the basement, and can actually find it. LOL  What a piece of art.  Bob

Truly a work of art. Thanks so much for taking the time and effort to post the step by step guide to building this beauty. It will lead me through my next build. My last chassis was very similar except it lacked the drop arm. The main rails, center pan and guide tongue were one unit. An MRRC Porsche 910 Carrera hardbody is on its way from the UK.  What an inspiring build! Might even splurge on some of Mike Swiss’ plated wire.

Awesome job, as always, Rick.

Same goes to the other Rick.

Splurge away, Mike.

That's what I've been working on the last day.

Sorting, filling and packing it for distributors.

Rick or Cheater - anyway for one of you to post a link to this in one of the 1/32 sections? I got lucky and stumbled on it here, but I bet many guys into primarily 1/32 won’t be so fortunate.

Thanks, Mike
