REH still has stocks of several 36D motors. I'm sure the motors from ProMo are NOS Revell.

We have been racing these vintage cars for decades here in Canada, mostly on basement "home" tracks. We started on Eldon and Scalextric and then moved to Strombecker and Revell, but today it is easier than ever before to build a track using Carrera.as seen here. We were racing monthly until the pandemic and those with a home track can still road test and tune their cars without waiting for and annual international meet.

One of our slot experts has pointed out to me that a similar brass chassis was used on the 1/32 Cooper Cobra kit, which I have heard called Lang Cooper and King Cobra and Monaco. I'm not sure what it is really but here's a link to the kit.

Hi Gary Bluestone,
I really like these vintage cars you are racing in Canada. Unfortunately, your link in post 28 doesn't work. Would it possible for you to post some photos of the chassis you use. If this is to much "off topic" I would be glad, if you can send my the pictures by message.
Thanks a lot,
Marc

Gary, I get a "403 Forbidden" for that link too.
I intend to live forever! So far, so good.

Gary the Revell Cooper Cobra is the second Lang Cooper. Designed by Cobra Daytona coupe designer Peter Brock. I meet Peter Brock and Alan Grant at last years Goodwood revival and he had his Book "The Road to Modena" published I bought a copy which he autographed. Basically when he left Shelby in 1965 he designed prototype Lang Cooper for De Thomaso called the De Thomaso P70 (Tamiya made a slotcar of this called the King Cobra) for its engine size 7.0 litres. They found it too complicated and designed the one that Revell made as the Cooper Cobra (Orange Number 97). I suppose any contact that Peter Brock had with Shelby even when he had left. Made the Slotcar Kits manufacturers called it a Cobra. Monogram made a slotcar they called a Cooper Ford. This is what some people call a King Cobra when it has the V8 engine in it. It was based on the Cooper Monaco 61.
