I found my original body. The label says Astra. A brand we touched on a couple of years ago.

 That's a good candidate

Recently put together for a friend (Paul Bass) out of parts he supplied to run in my upcoming vintage proxy drag race.

Using a kemtron inline brass chassis that was put together when I received it.

Motor is a 4v KTM blueprinted by Pittman (Bob Steere) I have soldered the lead wires directly to brass plates that run on the brushes under the springs (had a few issues with brush springs frying on 16 v).

Body is a revell cobra that had a little damage on the back I straightened it up best I could & painted it.

Car has run a 1.47 running on vintage threaded foam tyres.

Nice one Tom.

Any chance of a shot of your brush setup? Didn't realize those coil springs could have a problem on 16v, but maybe not surprising...

Thanks Don

I have had springs fail on a few motors of theses motors running on the strip after it happened to Bob's car at my last proxy I thought theres no harm in experimenting.

First pic is for the brush setup on a kemtron bronco & it setup on the bronco I did that one more like a shunt with the lead wire meeting it were it normally goes.
Last pic is setup on this car with lead wire directly from the braids to the brushes which has worked fine so far.
