The one time a year I race seriously, the Sano, I just clean the braid with naptha and a paper towel, between heats.
I would rather change braid as necessary, than use braid juice and get my fingers greasy/oily, (sometimes) adjusting it between heats.

That's all there was then Larry. Some was golden, some was dark brown. The clear came later. It all was a good bearing lube too.
I intend to live forever! So far, so good.

I use Slick Seven Voodoo- just a drop on each braid--NEVER soak it!! It definitely leaves the braid very clean after a heat-and has eliminated any braid burning with my retro cars. Like all things--use in moderation. Like Swiss said-- I'll oil the car after 4 heats-- a little dab l do ya!

I thought that was sold by Monogram! A good racer I knew told me that he soaked his hard rubber tyres in it the night before a race and it made them sticky.
I have a friend who thought he could use WD40 sprayed on to clean his model train tracks, what a disaster, it attacked the plastic ties and the track crumbled into dust.
I wonder how the Wahl's Clipper Oil that some model railroaders use to improve conductivity (once again, a little bit goes a long way, a lot is too much) would work. The Aj's TNT is just model train track cleaner so the Wahl's might work too.
My experience with TNT is that any improvement lasts for a lap or 2 at most, for cleaning braid Ronsonal works well.

Just a thought, when we ran with racer applied glue (before spray glue) the braid would become coated in glue. Braid juice would keep the braid clean while running through the muck the cars tracked onto the braid. Habit continued when we changed to spray glue.

Memorial Day
racers as we approach this memorial day weekend
take time to think about those who gave the ultimate sacrifice so that we can enjoy what we have in this
great nation of ours
As a combat wounded veteran, I totally understand what this day means
some of you might even have close relatives who have served this great nation of ours in time of conflict
Take time to honor their service.

Fantastic photo, Clyde! If that doesn't sum it up, I don't know what does. This year I am going to fly the Blue Line flag along with old glory. In my opinion, the first respondors, police, and firemen are also fighting wars, right in front of our eyes. In my area we have lost way too many of those people. My purpose is not to dilute the meaning of the day, but to bring other deserving "front liners" into the "family".
Plus one other thing. We need to remember the families of the fallen. They suffer as well. The pain of those killed in battle is now over, but the pain of those who have lost loved ones so very dear, goes on and on. I have seen what that does. It crushes the heart.
Finally, my never ending gratitude goes to those who served and returned with wounds, both physical and mental. I'll never know what that is like.

Dave I could not agree with you more.
we tend to forget the GOLD STAR families, those families who have lost someone.
I speak at my local veteran's organization, and I always say this:
We the Vietnam Veteran were not America's greatest generation.
but we held up our part of the bargain
we went!

Lap master slot car racing program
is it worth it vs the other products out there
and I say yes having run on tracks with the other products
with Lap Master it saves everything
you have a history of every event on the track during a race
and once you load the names of the racers you can save them and just pull them up for any race any class
and it’s so easy to add a last minute racer as well
with regards to qualifying it’s fantastic it sorts for you fastest to slowest
and all you have to do is assign heats and number of drivers per heat the lane selection is a no brainer
the only quirk is that you have to go into advanced settings and uncheck the lane you qualify on prior to the race
or else you will get the voice and time on every lap
granted it takes a little getting used to but the program is so flexible
and the recent GHOST option is fantastic
we just used it at a recent race
I know of one track owner who ran the other slot car program and had lap master on another track in his store
he was reluctant to try lap master but once he saw how well it worked he put it on his other track
The documentation with the program can be a little challenging but if you ever bought an airline ticket online you can do it
the remote function is great as well
you can also save all the names to a thumb drive and use it on another lap master track
once you’ve used lap master everything else is the dark ages
the break out function and auto rider function is unparalleled in my opinion
That’s it for now
enjoy the summer
remember to support the tracks during the summer season or else there will not be any tracks

Way back when, some of the manufacturers, like Aurora, would hire F-1 drivers to do demonstrations of their sets. My guess is that it is way too expensive to do that now.
