For anyone wondering why the races for Main Street Raceway (Avon Park) are listed as "Event TBD" on the schedule:  

 

The requirements for MSR to host an FSCS race are

-- at least three racers that consider MSR to be their home raceway, must attend the three preceding FSCS races (at P1R, RWB & FER)

-- each racer must enter at least two car classes

That seems incredibly fair.  It'll be good to see new racers and a new track joining the Series.  Well done!

 

They have nearly a month to get cars and bodies ready and decide who is going to drive.  All three of those tracks are just 1:45 to 2:00 from Avon Park.  They'll be home for supper.

Looking over the rules I noticed the Mossetti Defender 2 and JK C26 are not on the list of approved chassis for the series. Is this correct, or was this just an oversight? Not a big deal either way.

Aaron both are approved, all mossettis including the X or II versions and the JK26 is the Aelos C43

Men there's no way we can put this together,we have families,kids,Church functions amongst other things. If yall could let up a but and require our track racers to two venues,two racers and two classes I think we can do this. The Sunday thing is a issue, we are a small rural faith based community and it's a big part of our lives. Again, two out of three we could probably do. Hope you can see your way to go this route, hope to see ya at P1 in Feb.

Were all rooting for you to get three racers to those races. If you only have two guys willing to make it to a race hire a day laborer to come race as the third entry. For the right amount of money maybe Avon Park is my home track 😉

Hello everyone I would like some clarification around the front bumper length in Nascar, the rules specify 1/8th of an inch .125, as far as I can measure with my caliper is the cut line on a RTR COT is .09, I noticed these bodies cut to the cut line at the last 2 races and I want to know where to cut my bodies going forward.

Heres a photo of the RTR COT that I ran at P1 cut to 1/8th of an inch, it was cut below the cut line to meet the minimum amount aloud.

NASCAR:  "All bodies must have 1/8" front bumper "

LMP:  "Must maintain some of the turn-down in front of the body "

GTP:  "must maintain some turn-down in front "

 

To me, they all might need wording that is more precise.  Any suggestions, anyone?

Maybe the NASCAR 1/8" should be changed to 1/16".

Or ... simply enforce the 1/8" front bumper rule and bounce people out that have less than the legal amount.

I just checked a RTR Titan that I cut on the line, and it looks like its ~1/64 too small in a few spots. As the rule is written it shouldnt pass tech, but strict enforcement of this rule could hurt attendance in the future or upset guys that are there ready to race. Maybe allow for a little bit of a margin for error and bounce guys that are clearly hacking the bumper in half.

I'd go for 1/16 (.062"), that way you could cut the Titans on the cut line and still have a bit to trim if needed. 1/16 isn't much but it is a bit more specific than the "some turn down" in the other classes.

 

BTW... A real good turn-out and some really great racing at Melbourne this weekend.  A big THANKS! to track owner Mike Rapp and tech guy Dale King for making all of this all come together.

The racing has been great so far, the turnout has been great ,I'm not trying to cause any issues, I just looking for clarification, cut lines are great to help mount a body, especially for people with no patience or those who hate cutting bodies wrong and wasting money. I've figured it for the most part.

This season has been great, I appreciate everyone racing this season and being better sportsman than myself.

I just checked another RTR Titan that I tried to cut on the line and the bumper is slightly smaller than the first one I checked. Its really splitting hairs here, but Id bet most guys running the RTR tried to cut them on the line and are slightly under 1/8. Hopefully we can get clarification on this moving forward to avoid drama the morning of a race.
