WOW just checked out my current stock car bodies and of course they are all illegal from the rear bumper height rule. And they are brand new from last year but never raced. Most of them are lower in the back than the minimum rule too!   :shok:

Mike:

Am I correct in assuming that they were cut on the cut-line?  There shouldn't be a problem meeting the new specs with a body new out of the package IF you ignore the cut line.

Jay it is more the .750 bumper that is the issue. Pretty sure no one has ever cut one with that much bumper left. Has nothing to do with getting an advantage. On the Kelly bodies I have been using they just looked right with about .650 on the rear body. On to a new body now! :)

Just a heads up for anyone mounting up a new Kelly Charger body you need to leave a lot of body below the cut line in the back to get the body to the minimum rear height. All that work and I now have a new practice body! :)

I think it’s just about time that the BoD took the time to delete the old stock car body rule bulletins and publish one that is up to date and accurate. I believe there are 2 bulletins, plus one very hard to find clarification on Daytona rear heights.

it sure would be nice to have one concise, correct bulletin here on Slotblog and also on the website.

maybe while you are at it you could update the website.

I'll take care of it tonight to help eliminate the confusion.

Greg or Mike please lock this thread.
