What I don't get is the price of the new style transistor controllers, you can buy a 24 channel RC Transmitter with precision joysticks for less $$. I know it's a way smaller market.

Something I have always wondered. Was the Parma external heat sink repurposed from something else? Looks like they were sliced from a long piece of stock.

To my knowledge it was a dis that was designed by Parma and then the aluminum was extruded through it then "chopped" the width of the controller.
Another resister heat sink device for controllers in that era was a "GreenBolt" from California designed by Bob Green. It was basically an aluminum tube threaded on each end with two large hexagon nuts that were slotted to maximize surface area for heat dissipation. The tube passed through the core of the resistor and the nuts held the assembly together, Looks like they were available at one time from Professor

The GreenBolt was super cool! I think I may even have some packed away somewhere.

I'd suggest you put your photos in a new thread. They'll apt to be more easily seen there. This thread is 14 years old, so it's really easy to just skip over & not read.
I intend to live forever! So far, so good.
