Ok so it's too close to Christmas to have a fight (or serious discussion) about what to do about those who are bending the rules.
My proposal is this, winners in every class at a premium event will have their cars impounded for review of the rule set, tires withstanding since they would have been worn down during the race
If the said winners pass scrutineering, their wins would stand, if not they forfeit the win and the next inline gets the win and has their car checked as well
This would clear up rule's infractions in my opinion with regards to winners
Yes, it will take up more time but there would be no question on whether or not a winning car was legal.
Enjoy the holidays
keep in mind those in uniform who are the front lines and on the high seas away from their loved ones
having been one I know
all the best Racers
see you in the New Year

i remember a track that would use 5 white tire bottle caps numbered 1-5. at the end of a race, 3 caps were drawn and 3 of the top 5 finishers cars were re tec inspected. never knew which 3 cars would be checked. tires had to have enough diameter to pass after the race.

Well, the new season has begun, at least for me anyway
I will be heading towards Fast Eddie's for the Retro Rumble, always a good time down there.
This isn't a spec tire race, so it's open to all types of tires except the black magic.
It will be interesting to see how this is enforced and what happens if someone is caught using the black magic tire.
That's it for now - look for my report after the race.
Be safe out there and support the tracks.

I visited Fast Eddie's a few weeks ago when I was in FL on assignment. If you saw the Pinball News sticker on the cooler, I put that there with permission.
I updated Fast Eddie's Slotblog listing with some new pix that I took during my visit.
It's a great raceway in a nice suburban part of Tampa/St. Pete and I'd encourage people to visit them when you are in the area.
Ed Hoffman and his bride, Elaine, are real and genuine salt of the earth people; rare among track owners. The regulars are friendly and great to hang out with, also.

Well, I am off this weekend to go to Chance's race in Washington State
flying into Spokane Washington then drive 2 hours to the track for a good weekend of racing
this will be my first race where they are using the SPEC TIRE Rule
I applauded Chance for doing this race this way
I like this rule personally
but the only issue I see coming is that what do you do if you find a racer who has changed his or her tires
during the race?
what's the penalty?
Also, will the winners of the said class have their cars impounded to make sure they in fact used the SPEC TIRE?
Lots of if's here don't you think?
Slot Car racers are very smart on slipping by the rules, we've seen this before with bodies and gears
All of us are used to rules in our daily routine yet it seems we tend to discard them we want too
I think if you get caught cheating in Retro your name goes on a list much like the PRO LIST
and your banned from racing Retro
yes, its severe but it would discourage cheating
The way I see it if you are cheating at this, which is just small toy electric cars, what else are you cheating at?
Anyway, that's my 2 cents on this subject
some of my cars for this race
I might not be fast
but I will always look good!
See you at the track

I just got back from Racing at KF Slot Car Track
West Richland Washington
Had a great time there
big crowd
Chance Overholt owns it
here is a picture of the track we raced on last week
it was a handout motor race as well
also, a spec tire race and it was great
here is a picture of the way the tires were marked your race fee included a set a tires
$30 a race which includes a set of tires $50 for the Handout motor race with a set of tires
each class had a different color marking so you could not use the tires from a previous race
no charge for pit pass or practice
tires worked fine no problems no complaints whatsoever
had a couple of podiums in concourse and 1 win
I won my race in F-1
it was a move up race, so I got hammered in the next race
there were plenty of door prizes and everyone got something
plenty of food and drinks as well
Chance gave away his winning Can Am car as a door prize!
I plan on coming back next year, it's a haul to get there from Atlanta but I thoroughly enjoyed myself and made new friends
Chance puts on a great event
That's it for me
my next event will be at the Viper Pit in June then I drive out to Duffy's for the race in July
busy summer for me slot car racing
Thanks for listening and see you at the track!

Well, I leave for Denver at the end of this month and I wanted to get a head start on this race
getting my cars ready tires etc.
not that its's going to matter but at least I have to try!
Anyway
driving this time from Atlanta because I cant's stand the Denver airport
the trains that connect the terminals are always broken and they charge crazy
prices for rental cars out there
it's always a good time a Duffy's track
here are my cars that I am taking
you me, if you can't be fast look good!
look for my race report after the race
hope to see some familiar faces at the race
until then

Well, I just got back from Duffy's Retro Race
had a fabulous time out there again
Great bunch of racers
Duffy's Team puts on a First Class Retro Race
This was my second visit and I will be going back next year for sure.
First up was stock car
I came in 2nd in my race & I won Concours in that class.
Next race was Handout Motor Coupe
I was leading in this race and got hit on the lead on which caused me to be a Rider.
There nothing worse than being a rider as you get on to the lead on;
because you think you have control of your car, but you don't!
So lost laps because of my broken gear.
Next race F-1
I won my race and Concours
Can-Am
A hard-fought race & almost got second!
Well, that's it had a great time
Looking forward to next year's race at Duffy's
My next big race will be the Fall Brawl
See you there
