You would think it was the same guy, other the pic doesn't look like someone 50 years older.

Either an old pic, or it's a junior/son.

The person I first mentioned above, is now a 60 something year old man who has had a music shop in Brooklyn for years. When I first went wing car racing at C&C in 1970, he was a 15 yr.old kid building chassis competitive with Tony P, in both workmanship & performance. Our friend Gil had the first Kaaren chassis I saw.

Thanks John. I'll go with the details I recall. Last I knew, Brandon had a music shop in Brooklyn.

Bill, with that name he's pretty easy to find. This look like him?

Sounds like that is him.

Maybe a slightly older pic, but that could be someone in his 60's.

BTW, I think he is a semi-look alike for Roy Hood, ex Cali racer, now living in Chicago.

John, do you have any photos of the Kaaren chassis you can share here? I saw one 50 yrs. ago at C&C, but don't recall all the details. Brandon was about 15 then & he build differently than Tony P.

Digging thru the antique box I found this. It was represented as a  Brandon Kaaren chassis in 1973-4; out of date as the current chassis were "L" arm fronts. It's unsigned, missing the spring wire for the front axle, but it was serviceable for a weekly race car until the $10 Tony P Spiders came along.

Yes, this was out of date even when built in 1972.

Wow Brandon Kaaren.   I met him when I was 13 at the Coca Cola Race.  He was there with his father and A very nice, cool human who built some amazing chassis.  I wanted to buy one in the worst way but could barely afford a Whopper.   I have asked some folk about him in the past and got unknowing looks or responses but he was fast and a good guy.   And fast.
