To post Youtube videos, go to Youtube and open the video you want to post. You will get a screen that looks something like this;
Along the bottom you will see a button labeled "share". Click on that. You will then get a window in the center that looks like this:
Click on the button labeled "copy" next to the URL. Go back to Slotblog. The reply box should look something like this. (without the URLs)
On the toolbar at the top there will be a group of paste icons. Click on the one farthest to the left. "It should say only "paste".
A pop-up window will appear.
Click inside the box, and press and hold keys Ctrl, Shift, and V in that order. The URL should appear in the box. Then click "OK" at the bottom of the window. The URL should appear as shown in the third view above.
If this works for you, I fear I might have created a Kracken here. I'm sorry for that.

Amazing how much difference there is when you turn on the bypass on a DeFalco controller. Here I thought it bypassed the sensetvity and break DUH🙄. I cut almost 1.5seconds off my lap time without the aid of ground effects or,a tail extension 🤣
Gregg Lake was bass/acoustic undecided. Definitely from earth but, better with King Crimson or ELP? On his solo tour,he opened with nuclear attack and, and, and then,walked off the stage never to return 🤔. Must have ran out of material or was only paid enough for one song🧐

[ no, not-360°c].
Thanks to Martin, I scored the groovy psycho dellic 512-M. I thought, really, I did, that I'd post the Chaparral next to the 512-M ,or the 512-M next to the Chaparral . It could have gone either way.🤔

Great! Now, what are you going to do with them? I've lost track. (hopefully put them on some really cool old chassis)

Glad you got them Mark. There were 3 correct?
I am interested to see how they clean up
P.S. that pile is getting deeper.

Aside from the rusty looking brown on the front of the reptilian looking car, it's a real happening paint job. Judging from the front spitter,🤣,splitter,I'd say MAC ?

Have you figured out how the reptilian paint job was done. Interesting technique how ever it was done.
So glad Nicky was able to venture into Buzzy's basement and save some treasures

If the history of the body is known, by all means, save it as is. Every crack and dent has a story. Better yet, if you know what type of chassis was under that body, try to procure one to make it complete again. Otherwise, that Dynamics floppy pan chassis in the background would be a good candidate for one of those bodies. Fun times in the offing!

Example: I've got a couple of Cobra chassis's that look like they were assembled with match solder and a Zippo lighter. Almost want to 🤮 looking at them. However,if I were to restore them, they wouldn't be indicative of what was actually produced. 🧐 It's the equivalent of dipping coins in tarnex.
I'm pretty sure that I've seen that painting process in a Popular Mechanic's series'of books that I have. The reptilians car and the red & Black car should be on a shelf. At least I can have fun with the other. Also, I've asked the seller if he could elaborate on the history of them.
It just dawned on me that....... the same technique with florescent paint would be really happening.

My guess is it's done with black ink or very thin paint & an air source. (hose/airbrush)
I intend to live forever! So far, so good.

Ah! The ftnny 60's. And the Panhard LM64. The tall fins helped it get "Most aerodynamic" at Le Mans 1964. Then everybody was doing it. Copying the American big iron of the late 50's, maybe?
Matra got on the bandwagon with this varient of their MS640. I believe this is what the slot car pictured above is supposed to be;

It's a common trick by custom painters of show cars. But it only works if the water beads up. They mist the surface with water, then while it is wet, they spray the second color. Once the second color has fully cured, they wipe the surface with a canvas glove or microfiber rag. That pops the bubbles and dries the water that was captured under the paint. Some painters just let the water evaporate, but that can take days since the water is sealed in by the paint. And sometimes, as the paint dries, it shrinks and leaves a "crackle" effect on the bigger droplets you don't really want. Then the area is lightly wet sanded smooth with 1000 grit wet-or-dry sandpaper, and covered with many coats of clear.
Here is one painter's method;
https://youtu.be/GXY...imjuUCT5S3CYetc
Usually I add a little more shading to replicate shadows on the "dark side" of the water droplets. This gives them depth along with the outline of each drop. This is what is very time consuming, and most painters skip it. Also, if the shading is very delicate, I will shoot one or two coats of clear before wet sanding. It's a decide as you go situation.
It's an old technique, but still draws a smile when you see it.

I don't know how you would get the full effect of the raindrops shooting inside a clear body. Certainly the water goes on first, then the background color. But then you need to shoot the highlights at a low angle, hard to do with the sides of the body in the way. Then you should add the shading, also done at a low angle from the opposite direction.
How it looks on a car;
You get the effect of looking through a window during a rainstorm. Add a mural as background;

Obviously, acrylics wouldn't work.
