Beautiful paint jobs as usual, Jairus 8) . I especially like the car you built your daughter. It looks really nice  . What center section is that . . . :?

Thank you Rick!
The steel center section was found in the modern Slot Car stuff on ePay. The come up from time to time and I lost the card. It was packaged in a bag and the steel was blued.
That's all I can remember... I have been keeping my eyes open for another one but I am unsure how they handle since this one has yet to be tested.

Jairus, that center section might be from Great Race Products. They were a NY company making slot car part in the early to mid 1970s. :)

Pablo, heard you were really "roughing it" in beautiful downtown Manila. Nothing beats having a TV, refrigerator, & an AC unit for the tent!  Now all you need is a long extension cord for the Dremel. Stay safe!

I'm on the 19th floor in the Presidential Suite of the Pan Pacific Manila. Tomorrow we move to the beach resort. It's pretty rough all right

You want him to look like a tourist? He's military at taxpayer's expense! He needs to be out in the swamps & jungles where showers are available every 43th day. :naughty:

Hey! Be nice about the military. My son was in airborne for 3 years as an oxymoron. He was in military intelligence.(96B)

Mike,
I was being nice, just sharing an inside joke with Pablo. My son has been military intelligence for the past seven years. In January he returned to the states after a year of flying UAVs over beautiful downtown Baghdad. He's just been reassigned from the 3ID at Ft. Stewart to the newly established Unmanned Aircraft Systems group at Ft. Rucker, AL. But he'll be instructing out at Ft. Huachuca, AZ for the next three years. :)

Finished a couple more up yesterday… after which I took a break and went out to see “MI3”. Good movie, lots of action and easier to follow than “MI1”. Tom is better than I want to admit, his political views notwithstanding. Unfortunately there are too many flashing lights and quick editing up on the screen in this one! We came out of the theater with a slight headache because of that. Anyway I give it 3 out of 5 stars and wish I had gone to see “United 93” instead.

The first car is a HO 1949 Mercury. The decals are placed inside and include head and taillights. The chrome bumpers and grille are painted on the inside with Alclad II. Color is Grape Pearl.

Jairus, great looking bodies as usual! Boy, I wish that '49 Merc was scaled up to 1/32 or 1/24 scale. :)

Brian, looks like you'll be constructing another vintage chassis now.

Hi Bill,
I was thinking of using this on the Mike Steube can am chassis if it would fit? If not then I'll go with another floppy, plumber, right hand drive motor chassis.I got the motor all picked out!

Jairus another fantastic job on the paint work! 8) :smokin:

Thank you,

Brian, that ought to look good mounted on one of Mike's Can-Am chassis. All you need now is a highly detailed interior. As Alexander Graham Bell said, "Mr. Watson, come here!" :)

Body paint: Dupont makes a good paint that workes on Lexan. It's called Chromabase. Every color under the sun, except fluorescents. My local automotive paint supply store (Senik Paints) in Costa Mesa, CA, sells paint in 9 oz. bottles. Reduce 50% with Dupont 3602S acrylic laquer thinner and you'll get 18 oz. airbrushable paint for about $9.00.

"Mr. Watson, come here, I want you"

That's thirty minutes away. I'll be there in ten.
