Complain complain... You didn't call me Moto-Mike for no reason. Moose had the perfect comment for a pit track...We are pretty spoiled with so many of todays tracks being extremely smooth and having good clean power.
Sometimes tracks with quirks can be fun and create a real hometrack advantage for the locals. Sometimes they should just be firewood.

BTW does it have a bottom deck, like the American tracks had??? if so that could make it an Altech, also built by Engleman...

Hi Ben.
Looks like it was built by Stan Engleman to me.
Definitely an Engleman Hi-Speed bank... just like mine and the others he built for himself and Altech, flat going in and coming out, kicked up high in the center.
Look at the way it's sectioned: big pieces, probably no base or it would be unreasonably heavy.
Seems to have double 3/8" plywood sides like mine, too.
No attached legs, I'll bet, just rests on supports as does mine and the sides are the same height from the floor all around.
The surface is definitely vintage particle board, it's still got roots in it.

You just say that because you won most of the races held on that track when it was in Snellville... LOL!!

You need to clean your glasses. It's the same track.
It was at Flashbacks in Snellville, GA, for years, then was sold to John at Daytona Slots in Dallas, GA. Daytona Slots is NOT in Daytona Beach, FL.

Since my vision has returned, I may be open to setting up the two tracks if I could find a partner to help out. I think Retro is the immediate future of slot racing. Sounds like fun.

Don,That track looks like a nightmare to marshall. Is it?
Perhaps some of you South Carolina racers can help me on this. I am trying to trace the origins of this track. The earliest verified location was in 1986 when Jeff Chalmers purchased it from a store in North Augusta, SC. Do any of you remember the store or the track from there?
Thanks,
John,

Are your control panels original? If so, do you have any good pictures. They look similar in construction to mine except for the wraparound.

Lindsay,I remember chasing Joey Mac and Ralph around that track. It was great with Wing 12s running Chinese motors.
Great to hear from you again, hope everything is going well for you in Australia.
I would like to thank you again for all the help you gave me when I first set the blue king at Daytona Slots. Could not have set up that King nearly as well without the help of you, Joe, Tommy, and of course, Mark. Great job done and never asked for anything in return.
Next time you are in this area give me a shout.
Thanks,
John

If I can find information as to the original placement of the removed sections, I plan on restoring this track to its original size. If my research is correct, this is the only survivor of the monster 300' plus giants of that era.
Any additional info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
John
