Here is Ray Carlisi's winnings from the first East Coast Retro Can-Am Race. As the highest non-ex-pro finisher, Ray won a Noose body and elected to have it done up John Surtees style. Congrats, Ray!

The box says Russkit Cro-Sal Olds and it has been prepared for Vinny. Note the reference to Ferrettis Raceway which was one of the many in NJ and home of MINRA.

On the "Ferrettis" body, is that a Cox driver head? On what interior? Where'd you get the injector stacks?

Everything was in the original box as Russkit packaged it.

Very nice, Joe! I have been eyeing those repo drivers on Professor Motor because I think they look way more realistic. Wish we could find the time to vacuum-form and cast our own interiors, eh?

This one that was with the Russkit kit was a gem. The head size was more in proportion than those PM ones. I got some of those and I didn't like them. I'm not happy with the way most things are vacuum-formed these days. No details like in the old days.

If one of you people with talent would make a decent mold several companies could pull them. A nice '60s driver with an open-face helmet that is low profile would be nice.

Has anybody tried the Patto's drivers?

I've not done any Patto's interiors/drivers yet. I've done a few PM interiors though. The ones with the Bell Star (enclosed) helmets are more to scale than the open-face helmets (as Joe noted). Also, on the open-face ones, there is a mold "line" or "flashing" right down the middle of the drivers face!! UUGHH! I carefully used my Dremel to grind it down but then wound up with a driver with a hole in his face below his nose. UUGGHH! But I recovered nicely by using facial tissue to make a balaklava to cover his face . . . looks good!

Good way to cover up the poor quality of the pull on this type of interior. I just got some more and some had that ugly thingy and some didn't, so it is possible to do it right.

PdL, any comments on what should be done to prevent this from happening?

Yes: do it right!
That may soon change as Scott re-purchased the tooling for the drivers made a few years back for Electric Dreams. In the relatively near future, Electric Dreams will have the cockpits pulled in 15-thou black butyrate just like in the old days, crisp and all. We just have to find drivers heads for the ones that are supposed to use separate injected plastic heads.

Philippe:

The pseudo-Cox driver figures that Champion still makes (I think) have a usable one-piece head in them. Perhaps you could get head moldings from them? Open-face helmet is the way to go for a repo interior in my opinion.

I usually buy all of these I can find. Admittedly the shoulder/arms portion needs work and the steering wheel is absent but with a little work . . .

Making resin heads is easy but not inexpensive. I am hoping to find a stash of NOS molded heads some place . . .

Joe,

Everything is said - but not from everyone! I really like your bodies, but most I admire the speed of publishing pics of new ones!!! Keep on sweetening my after-work time looking at the forum discovering new Lolas and McLarens, etc.
