Just wanted to say I've signed up to this site purely because of the great work you're doing. My good pal Lowrider led me here.

These paint jobs are wonderful, and they take me straight back to Tottenham in 1969. I'm trying my hand at a few for Nostalgia Can-Am races here in England, and stealing a few ideas. Hope you don't mind.

Welcome!

For those who may not know, "Howmet TX" is an incredibly-talented slot car constructor that belongs among the great artist that post their works here!

"Howmet TX" is John Dilworth and he builds great slot cars and wonderful bodies that I continue to admire and desire!

I am excited to see what posts will result by his new registration here! Lord Edo the Kingie of Thingie can also attest to the sheer brilliance that is Howmet TX!

Thank you Lowrider for leading him here for everyone to benefit from his craftsmenship.

My pleasure, Max.

Howmet had to miss our Can-Am racing last night because of a bad case of Nursemaid's Knee. His entire family has been unwell and John has been dutifully manning the mops and buckets.
I emailed him the photos of Noose's Honker, a car dear to his soft heart, to cheer him up. He wanted to know where they came from so I linked him here.

The rest is about to become history . . .

Regards,
Steve-a-roonie Kempson

Are you here to promote those three-armed sweaters in a new environment?

Just kidding, nice to see a great new face here. Keep up the good work.

Howmet sent me a few of his 1/32 resin and vacformed bodies, all made from molds he carved himself, and unless you have seen these things in the flesh it is difficult to imagine how pretty they are.

He is also a very funny fellow, although perhaps one needs a British or Colonial sense of humor for some of it . . .

And of course he can't spell, so he would probably be saying moUlds and humoUr of course . . . ;)

Good to have you on board, John.

Just because we love YOUR work so much, Noose, and also for the pleasure of knowing how much Howmet will blush,

Lowrider presents: Howmet's Can-Am cars -

Both are bodies of his own manufacture.
The Honker is based on my original Du-Bro body with a few aesthetic alterations.

You can see the thread about Howmet's 1/32 Chaparral 2G here.

There are some other threads too, but it will take me a bit of time to find them, buried in 153 pages of the SlotForum's scratchbuilding thread!

Now this is embarrassing . . .

I told you I only joined to show my appreciation of Noose's fabulous painting. Sorry for the distraction, Noose.

But thanks for the welcome, chaps!

You should not be embarrassed in any way. We respect talent and craftsmanship here at Slotblog and you definitely qualify on both counts.

Thanks for joining us, though I ain't letting Lowrider get all the credit for you being here. I recall inviting you to join us a few weeks back when I sent you those pics of the real Howmet TX.

Oh no; THIS isn't embarrassing. Just WAIT until they decide to treat you like "one o' the gang", giving you no respect and generally ragging on you . . . all in good-natured fun, of course. THEN you can be embarrassed!

Nice lookin' cars, Joe! I like the wheel inserts; a little detail never hurt anyone. I keep tellin' myself that I'm gonna order some from Al . . . and I WILL . . . sometime this year.

Some of you may have noticed that Tony P likes to dedicate his bodies to past slot racing greats. So he asked me to do his East coast Flexi body in the tradtion of a Morrissey body. Here it is:
