Well, I now have a vehicle worthy of this thread. Since I now have lost most of my mobility, and can't walk very far, I found I needed a mobility scooter to get around. I had three criteria. It had to fold up so I could get it in my trunk, as well as be light weight. It had to carry my weight. And, of course, it had to be fast. This is what I ended up with;
All electric. Joy stick controls. Dig those OZ wheels!
Dual 1 horsepower motors. Look below the motors and you can see the adjustable wheelie bars. They are full retracted here. And yes, it does pull wheelies. I slide back in the seat as far as I can, select the top speed range, and slam the joystick all the way forward. It will carry the front wheels about 10 feet.
The Chinetti NART sticker gives the scooter some racing provenance.
The controls are nice and responsive. The scooter is GPS locked, so I can take my hand off the joy stick and it will continue in a straight line unless I move the stick again. Just like autopilot in a commercial jet. No stick shaker though. I won't get any warning that I am approaching stall.
