We had a great race in Germany. Only two wrecks resulted in damaged cars not being able to finish. Repairs are being made prior to shipping the cars off to the next race in España!
Couple things to note is that after two bad showings regarding a damaged entry returned home for repairs and missing the Lugano race... "Orange Crate" is back on the podium. Congratulations Barney!
With exception of the two retired cars most entries managed a similar outcome to the Buena Park 'Legends' race.
One other notable exception being Brian McPhearson's "REM Raceway" car which seems to have 'broken out' of a solid mid-pack standing and kept it's nose under Wavemaker's tail barely two laps behind! Way to go Team REM!
The 'cobbler's children' metaphor seems to apply to poor "Q-tip racer" this time out as Sir Havlicek has got his hand built motors powering quite a few entries in the A-main and yet his own car didn't do as well there at Minerva. I am somewhat surprised and more than a little concerned.
Another car to watch is Pablo's "Mubachi Racha" which keeps moving up the pack regardless of the track. Guess it and "REM Raceway" only improve with age huh?
Again, if I made any errors in counting points, please notify me and I will endeavor to make corrections.
Total points from here on in will include Dynamic awarded points. (Some will note a 10 point increase in "6t's" total as I forgot to add a Dynamic weight to the total after the last half-time report.)
Many thanks to Jens friend and fellow racer Frieder for keeping track of the statistics. I have them available on Excel spreadsheet including individual heat lap times if anyone wants a look. Just send me an email as I can't put spreadsheets on my Fotki. (or can I?)
Also note that the points leader currently is....... Drumroll..... Mike Zimmerman! "Scorpion" holds a clear 6 point lead over second place, so far held by Ray Price's "Manta Ray".
Okay, that is all... Next race in "BARCELONA SPAIN"!
(Exact date to be set once the cars arrive)
Ciao

Oh and just so everybody knows no changes or fixes were made to The Orange Crate while it was rest at home other than ....I did add a new gear and I sent wider Pro Track natural rubber tires to Ralph to install on my car. .... should have started with those I guess! DOH!

One other notable exception being Brian McPherson's "REM Raceway" car which seems to have 'broken out' of a solid mid-pack standing and kept it's nose under Wavemaker's tail barely two laps behind! Way to go Team REM!

Some cool pic's of the Thingie Hoard they look really low to the ground slamma-jamma-style in the front/track/pic. Thanks for the TLC on #44, hopefully Master biulder Steve can sort it out and thanks to Barn for the replacement.

Jens, loving the pictures and extra dialog. Thank you!
Did you have any luck sourcing "O" rings for the missing front wheels?
Have a happy holiday there in Germany and tell Ralph that I use the very same UNGAR iron!

what happened in the meantime:
We had a nice autumn afternoon in Germany and I took the chance to prepare the second half of the cars for the next round in Spain, as I did with the first half the weekend before. Some impressions:
I was lucky to finde two vintage tires to replace the lost ones. As the surviving original artefakts were hard like rocks and seemed to would have been destroyed while removing I let them on their places and used only two replacements of nearly the same diameter as their pulverized predecessors. The results can be seen here:
The dirt of the circuits:
As Ralph and I had been and will be to busy at our jobst to meet and let Bud come back home to its comrades - in - arms it will take to perhaps next thursday to complete the company for the expedition to Spain. Sorry for this, but we both are on the finishline of this year in our businesses and that has to come first even in the Socialistic Republic of Germany.
End of the news, see you next time!

Here in Paris we've had a much nicer autumn than summer, so still a glimpse of sun from time to time... enjoy the last rays!
