Will let you know when it is re-scheduled, and be prepared that we are heading into the holiday season. We might have to hold off until after the first of the year. Which does not bother me one bit if we get a great race out of it.

When are the cars due back in the US? I've had enough of this fun. Guys that are too busy to ship, guys that take a race and can't get racers, sand paper surfaced tracks......... and I wondered why the last proxy took well over a year to complete. This is just too long, painfull and just not fun anymore.
Please let me know when the cars arrive in the US, and where they're at. I'll then pay to have mine sent back to me. I'm done.

How do you think your wanting to quit makes the entrants that you are currently beating feel?
So.... why not just 'let it ride'? If it's painful, don't watch!
If it seems too long, well on that point I agree. Which is why I am suggesting the next proxy be only two races.
In fact I believe I am done with these long races and have no idea why I thought 10 races would be a good idea.
At any rate, your car and all the other cars are in it for the duration. (Unless it breaks of course) Nobody quits!
If Jordi cannot re-schedule a new race in January then he has agreed to forward the cars onto Steve Kempson for the next round and we adjust accordingly.
I am considering the possible idea of running the King track at Chicago-land... but like Rob - I too am getting tired and considering ending after only 8 races. (Ending after Route 93) But if we end early, we ALL end early!
At any rate, nothing will be solved by quitting now. Jordi is very disappointed that the race didn't happen. Seems the population of Spain is more interested in soccer and celebration than a little toy car race. Silly spaniards...

Everyone seems to be more interested in the 2012 Race.
It seems you are having a communication issue with one of the tracks. (BTW, What are the Two tracks again?)
If you are going to use only Two Tracks, I would hope they would be able to use Ustream.
I have no problem waiting.........just do not understand this scheduling thing

This is nothing, the Sunchaser went on nearly 2 years and I got tired of seeing my car finish in the same mid-pack position every time but, we all stuck it out to the finish. There are many other slot cars in the stable to play with but, I think we learned a lesson to NOT do THAT again! Only 2 races next time might be a bit of a knee-jerk reaction, I'd like to see maybe 5 or 6 because it doesn't seem to be worth building a complete car from scratch (including a possible new body mould) for only 2 races, just my 2 cents.

That in my opinion cannot be done if a car has to be built for the endurance of five or six races over a number of different tracks. Two different proposals.
Edo wanted to run a leg at Parma Italy. I said no at the time. In retrospect it might have been a bad decision on my part, but too late now. So E and I discussed the possibility of leaving that wonderful track for a future Proxy.
There is no reason the NEXT race late 2012 cannot be 5 or 6 races, but that is a discussion for later.
Besides, nobody is forcing you to make a new body my friend. Brother Ray has lots of great deepdish bodies...

We really should leave the discussion of what should be for the 'next race' in the proper thread Mike. But I had my reasons for the proposed Choti race due to the factor of SPEED!!!! I wanted builders to be free to construct a car that runs at 'the ragged edge'.

That's very true and I was actually thinking of using one of Ray's to make things a little easier. The concept for the balls out is great and definitly has my interest, just thinking outloud here which is my mistake. Sorry about the thread, didn't even realize it.

I rapt that my car is finishing mid-pack. I'm rapt that my car is still going. Rookie proxy racer and all....... I got tired of seeing my car finish in the same mid-pack position every time......
Looking forward to the next race, wherever and whenever it is.

We are all passionate about these little cars, put a lot of love in them and get frustrated when things get off track.
Some dates and locations have not gone as well as others and it is tough to stay calm when events don't happen or there is little to no info coming from the selected directors.
How hard is it to run a heat or segment and then post a sentence and picture or two on the designated blog site so we all can feel involved and in touch.
This should be in "The Rules" for the race directors as a common courtesy to the car owners and fans......

So far ..... "They just do it different over there" (I hope I'm allowed to still say that and not have it be hate crime)
We are used to 8 lane monsters, epoxy paint, fast posted printouts, some hoopla and even live fun and monitor views via UStream.
"You American slot racers are just so spoiled"
I have been lowering my expectations as we go, there should be minimum standards with the commitment to direct an event.
As an entrant it is somewhat stressful not know what's going on with the entertainers. We send our cars to tracks for them to entertain the host and friends AND they in turn should provide us with the shared entertainment experience.
Not understanding what is going on and the end result of a final finishing order and a few pictures that come up is short of what that minimum shared value should be.
When you have an International audience and some of the best original built far-out slot creations on the planet... step up and put on the "Really Big Show"
Jairus, even that big thingie race in Oct. at Parma didn't get much air time on their .it blog.
Saw some pictures but no race control results.

If going to the stadium then DVR it at home...speed through the stupid commercials and have instant replays of the grandstands coming down.
What a riot...? get it?
Might want to slow-mo/pause some of those racy euro-commercials too. Like Victoria has no more Secret.

People are taking a lot of time to organize these races, totally on their own time and dime, and I think we should let them do as best they can...
Don
PS: for those of you outside of Europe, don't think you realize how big a match the Barcelona-Madrid game was! Kind of like Yankees-Red Sox, Packers-Dallas and Cubs-Sox all rolled into one! (and I'm a life-long Cubs fan, so that last one was a joke, unfortunately...)
