Barney, can you tell me again where I can purchase the timing triggers and software again? Someone I can trust this time...

I just had a chat with Steve C about the race, and it was postponed one day so will be run tonight (Wednesday).
Steve C will post the results as soon as he sorts it all out.

No Bob. I didn't ask too much as I had a bad connection to his mobile phone.

I'm sure Steve will give us all of the info pretty soon.

Well, I have to take it off now!
Heard from Steve Corneille and his message is as follows:

By now I guess you're all getting a bit hungry for news of the Melbourne round. Let me feed that hunger with a rice cracker. The side of ribs will come later.

Just to recap, the Melbourne round was originally planned to run on Tuesday, August 16th, and then quickly moved to Wednesday the 17th as it clashed with a 1/32 scale night at the raceway. I wanted to be very selective with the drivers so i sent out personal invites and got a suitable cohort arranged, but because a number of people had something else on that night I couldn't get any reserves. The inevitable happened: on the day someone had to pull out and I was forced to ring up and postpone when I couldn't find a suitable replacement. Wouldn't you know it, after I'd already cancelled one of the original invitees who declined called to say they had a change of plans and was there any chance they could come along and drive? !!! Too late.

So you'll all have to be patient a little while longer. The race will now run on Tuesday, August 23rd. I switched from a Wednesday back to a Tuesday as more people are available so I've got plenty of reserves now. - Steve C.

Patience guys. This is nothing compared to some of the other waits we have had in the past. The message was sent about midnight here on the west coast. I would have posted this earlier but was already in dream land. And now... it's just after Midnight in Melbourne. Steve works hard for his living so chances to race are difficult. We will now wash our shirts and wear them next Monday night. :)

P.S. The second run of t-shirts are at the printer. Not heard if they have been printed yet. Hoping to get them out in the mail next week.

Smaller track and tighter corners Bob. One reason I wanted an equal number of short tracks and long tracks. Great to see Joe Lupo doing so well along with Edo and Phil Smith. :)

The track surface is unlike most of the other tracks.
It is painted with Dulux Ferrodor which has a surface similar to 600 grit wet/dry paper.
Also looks a bit like blackboard paint.

Ferrodor is the paint that our Sydney Harbour Bridge is painted with, and is a common surface down here on home tracks, and some commercial tracks.

It sucks, but I can empathise with your finish. At least a 1 averages better than a Zero.

Did the Zip Grip get lost that was in the box? Something called "shellite" was used not the Zip Grip.... I do not know why cars that were loose here at BPR had better tires than on my car when it was stuck at BPR??? Oh well send it home and I'll pay the expense please.

I'm sure ther is nothing wrong with the car, it was going well in Sydney.

No, the Zip Grip didn't get lost, I put some on the fresh tyres to condition them a bit, before I posted the cars.
Some track owners here don't like the use of tyre additives, and only clean the tyres to remove any build up of junk/dirt.

Shellite is like lighter fluid. It removes oil/dirt, and dries completely, so if the tyres are prone to slip, then they certainly will after cleaning with Shellite.

With the hot-ish motor in Orange Crate, I can well imagine it overpowering the track.

I came in last so as Jairus said if so it can be fixed. How many tracks in the series will not clean the tires with zip grip?
I was under the impression since Jairus stated the tires will be cleaned with Zip Grip that is what would happen. Please ask Steve that it and my spares be sent home and I'll pay the $.

Steve, it chunked a tire at your track and maybe needs some TLC after this race as well so I want to check it out and see if I need to run Natural rubber for the rest of the series. Is there any other tracks in this series that will not allow tire treatment??? If so I will have to use natural rubber to get more bite.....
Thanks
