Fair enough.
I'd be surprised if there are other tracks that don't allow tire treatment.
I'm guessing that the rest of the series will be run on gloss or semi gloss tracks, which are friendly to Zip Grip.
But, only the future hosts can answer that.

I asked Jairus as well and did not know either so I hope they will post if not.
Thanks Steve.

Great to see Futurekingiethingie come in sixth and not that far off a podium finish :)
I read here somewhere that there may be a problem with the guide on the car, let me know where to send it and I'll get a new one shipped out.

One problem I'm having with the results,
in one place there is a list of owners and another shows a list of the cars, any chance of combining the two so we can see the owner and the car without having to constantly refer back to the original listing of the cars, and some are not on that list!)

Phil

Jairus's official points are listed by car. I set up my Excel sheet to match which is why I post the same way. I know what your talking about with having to refer to the orginal list. With four rounds I now have most cars and their owners memorized, but still need to refer back to the orginal list. In regard to some cars not being listed. I can think of two. I believe Oscar's car was orginally listed as Oacar Da Grough #15 on the "Cars" thread and now I believe Jairus lists it as "Bugman" or Oscar's Slotblog name on the official results? Same with Ray Fellows car, it has a Mini-B thingie body and I believe that was how it was listed on the "Cars" thread but has a different name on the official results.

A Pittman on the podium! :shok:

Thank you Steve and drivers and marshalls for all your hard efforts.

This race was quite the turnabout and this keeps the Challenge interesting.

Each car has different abilities under different circumstances, leading to many surprises.

May the FUN continue!! :D That's what it's all about my friends.

This win is dedicated to those perverse individuals (you know who you are!) who use modern Parma 16ds (and their siblings pink crowns) in this series :P

Final results of the 4th round and the total score so far. (less points for use of Dynamic parts)
Posted Image

I added the owners names to this list as some have requested it. The Lugano round is next but a date has not yet been set... however its completion will mark the midpoint of the Proxy. After Lugano I will award Dynamic points and post as a half time scoreboard and post it in order so everyone can see where they stand. As far as I know, only #45 Budweiser lost Dynamic points due to losing the original Dynamic GE motor.

Congratulations to Joe Lupo for succesfully repairing his car. Titanic moves up from last place to 17th.
FutureKingieThingie moved up from 23rd to 6th.... WAY TO GO PHIL!
Edo's car was running in the back third of the pack most of the race and suddenly takes the poll position? Wow, that was unexpected, but a happy occurrence nonetheless for such a storied ol'warhorse.

Very sorry to see Orange Crate, REM Raceway, Manta Ray, Q-tip Racer, Dyna-Rigg, Buggman, LeDerriere take a slide in standings. Could be the short track, the strange track surface or something else, but it is what it is. Barney has evoked the "Last place rule" and so Orange Crate will be sent home for possible repairs. (worked well for "Titanic")

Congratulations all for a wonderful race, HUGE THANK YOU to the drivers at Melbourne and to Steve Corneille for directing.
See you all in LUGANO! :)

Not trying to make Joe's "Titanic" sink further to the bottom, but shoudn't he only have 19 race points? His car didn't start the Sydney round, correct?

Also can you post the results at the start of the thread under the picture of the track like you did with the first 3 rounds? Makes it easier to find the results other than going through all the pages

Thanks

Hi Folks,

Just a quick update on the follow-up race report for the Melbourne proxy round. Having spent 3 hours loading video and editing it the night after the race my notebook decided not to boot up the following morning. A little bit of searching on the net revealed that if you have a HP Pavillion notebook then the chances are it's died just after the warranty ran out. A quick search on ebay showed a dozen for sale, all "for parts or not working"! That's a roundabout way of saying that there'll be no video highlights for a couple of weeks at least. It will come eventually. The good news is that I found a clip on youtube that said I should pull my notebook apart and fry the bejeezus out of the back of the motherboard using a paint stripping gun! Hey, the thing only cost me $2000, so why not, seeing as it's a paper weight as it is and HP want over $1000 to fix it. Well, I'm gobsmacked because I tried it the fix actually worked. I need to get an auxilary cooling fan and then I'll be back on the video editing job.

In the meantime three of the cars will be on their way back to their owners early this week with the rest heading off to Edo.

Regards,

Steve C

hi Steve
Sorry, to hear of the computer problems. That's a big bummer!

I haven't been contacted saying anything is wrong with the REM ride, so I can only guess you done a Wonderful job in making the motor install. For that, I Thank You! :)

Will be waiting patiently for videos when the time is right.

Jairus:

would it be possible to make the results into some sort of high resolution 8-1/2 X 11 download type format so we can print them out and hang them up? I'm sure some like me would like to do that?

Welllll... what you want Rob is a Pdf. Unfortunately I am not quite ready to put together pdf files having finally got my computer back up and running. All the posts I put together to report this proxy are set up for posting on the forums. Sorry, I will keep it in mind for the final report or even, the half time report after Lugano.

PDF would be fine. Want to put them up in my slot car room, especially when my car finishes on the podium. Those would make a nice addition to R4 event posters I have for the ones I participated in and old slot car sets boxes also on my wall. About the only thing not hanging on my wall in my slot car room is my Bishop Don Majic Jaun poster, but that's not appropriate for me to post a picture here.

More info coming.
Ciao for now

Actually Miss C. was already at the airport ready to catch a plane to your home when she met one of those 7 foot Gaddafi body guards escaping Libya and decided to go with him instead.
Oh well, life is unfair...
