I've straightened out the chassis and need to do a bit of soldering, for that to be right.
I 've patched up the original body sufficiently for it to be used in the next race should I not have a new body ready in time for the mail. I've also devised a simple fix for the pans, should the body not be keeping them in place as it is designed to.
I will pull a new body and get it trimmed with the mounts in the correct place before mailing the car off, but this can be painted up and mailed off later if I run out of time.
So all is good at this end.

Unfortunately, water-base Faskolor doesn't dry very quickly when it rains.....
That stuff doesn't dry fast without the rain, LOL. I use my retractable bench light which has a regular 75 watt bulb in it for drying painted bodies between coats. Works well with lacquer too (important to get that solvent out of there fast so as not to weaken body). I put it about 3 to 4 inches above with the body laying on it's back. Just a suggestion I think might work good for you, J.

No probs J. and thanks for the offer, but I'm cool for now.I will send it separately to Steve King Barn. It's already cut and trimmed, he can mount it super easy!
(Hey Steve, need anything special I can send along? )

Success, on the second attempt I have a passable new body for blacklight. I'll try a few more times to see if I can get a better finish, but at least I have a fallback.
Still aiming to have the car mailed by the weekend.

The chassis has been straightened and soldered as best as I can, The motor tested (thanks Barney) and the whole thing assembled. It is currently sporting its old and damaged body which I have patched up to be servicable, but I wanted to make sure it was in the next leg. I would post pictures but my technological jinx continues to haunt me and my camera phone has died.
I have a very nice new body for Blacklight, ready to be sent onto Oz, just as soon as I have finished the paint job.
Roll on the next round.

But I think you had plenty of time.
EdoTRON's new body is cut and painted but not yet bullet proofed. It will head to OZ for Steve to mount on Tues.

Tore was wanting to keep this one but it has a long strange trip to the Land of OZ......
Got it for ya Steve!

Not exactly the same graphics.... but this time I had two new pieces of information. No, three!
1. the front wheels on the car are bright red. (and clashed with the original color)
2. the wheelbase was much shorter than I knew and meant trimming some of the design.
3. the material is actually PETG. (now painted with 80% FasKolor acrylic)
Credit must go to Mark Adams at Supervinyl Graphics for cutting the name out of bright red vinyl. Waaayyyy easier than hand painting in my book!
(Also could work as a mask if cut backwards used inside by the way, hmmmmmmm)

United we stand and divided we fall, the Legends are complete.
I'm racing the best here at BP but Father time is much better then all of us united.
Not a snob in this hobby, after all it will be gone, if we keep on going like we do, and I have nothing to prove so I keep on posting because I have nothing to gain.
It's our duty to remember the past so we can have a future.

I ran them on the flat track for testing.
Gary your car was better and handled great. Your one magnet as I told you was cracked but the other one was pretty dead even after zapping so I dug out a set of my stock mags for you and zapped them up. The arm is pretty hot...hotter than what I'm running so I hope it lives.
Robs car with one of my backup arms ran real good and handled like a dream!
I also got Ralph Klose's car back together with the new motor and pod that Jairus sent down and tried it and it worked real good as well for a stock Dynamic. I finally got to run my own car on the King on orange (what else for the Orange Crate) and it was real smooth. I only got about 10 mins. on red before I sent it off to the race so I had to try it for a couple of laps. The track was at 13.5v and real stuck so just a couple to see how it ran.
The cars are on the way! Steve I will PM you soon. 2 boxes that were 1/4" under the 79" limit for shipping cheaper! I put a note inside for customs if they open it up telling them of our Around the World race with some pics of the sheet Keith did up. I hope they get there in time. I hope the new boxes can be re-used and sent on later.
Good luck to all the racers! .
