Thanks Barney and Jairus! I assume the car is an endbell drive FT16D...does rotation matter ...CW or CCW viewed from endbell (if it's inline, the crown gear can just be flipped)? Looking through my stuff just now, I found a nice Champion can with the original magnets and they measure just fine (around 900 on my meter). Let me know about the motor particulars and I'll get things rolling tonight. I also need to know an address to send the motor to!

Deep intake of breath.......

I'll put an order in for some slightly thicker PETG, and get a start on a new body, meanwhile...She might not be pretty, but if she's still a runner then let her run.

I see the chassis withstood the impact, intact. :)

Do you think that strapping tape is having a positive affect upon the aero? lol.

Al.

Al,
How thick of plastic did you use??? I would go with .015 PETG- Lexan is turfier to forum, but would be stronger, if you have a Prof. vac system to make it? Cool design man!! Another thought would be to reverse the front brass retainers, less cutting action on the body ??

I would of liked to ship them but I'm at a wedding at the palatial McDonalds headquarters. I did get Bob's car sent out Priority Mail earlier.

The arm is wound and tied. I'm going to try and get it out tomorrow morning as I have some motors to send and will be at the Post office. The motor will just need a little breaking in Barney. Cheers to Sir John Dillworth of "Team H" wherever he is!

Dennis Samson will qualify all cars for 30 seconds with the soft walls up to protect the cars.

So now I know what you REALLY think of my driving....... :shok: :o

Seriously, it will an honor to qualify the cars, but to be included as a "legend" is over the top.

John's motor is done and posted in the "Arm Winding" thread. I timed it to run the opposite way, so you'll have to flip the crown gear Barney. Polarity is marked on the top of the can :)

Hey Barney. I just got back from the Post Office and they tell me John's motor should be there by possibly Wednesday...but maybe Thursday. You'll probably have to trim the shaft a bit, but the motor should otherwise just drop in. Thanks for taking care of this! :)

I called Fed-Ex this morning and they informed me bringing the packages on
Saturday won't move it along any earlier vs. bringing it there Monday.

The Dyna-Rigg went out earlier today USPS, Priority Mail.
Air packages travel over the weekend so Barney may see it as soon as Monday.

I was hoping that the cars would be here Thur but it looks like they will not be here till Friday.... Now we will be pressed for time. I was hoping to get them over to Dennis Thur. for tech and making sure they are ready now it will be Friday and that cuts into Friday prep at the track. We have to run it this weekend as next is Fathers Day weekend..... Oh well it is what it is.

We may have to suspend qualifying and do what Jairus said.... But how would we re-qualify
on another track and place where the car should start? John's motor may not be as fast as his first one ... Maybe take the last car in Mike's A main and run it for a baseline and then run Johns and see if it can bump that car?
Jairus:

"The next race, slated to take place on June 18th, will be divided into three mains based on this races results with "Dyna-Rigg" re-qualifying once repairs made. (As will any returning entry) No need for re-qualifications for the rest of the field as these cars do not need the added risk unless repairs are made."

Jairus the motor I took out today did not have this pinion on it???? It had a 6 tooth angled pinion on it.... did you change it out? This looks like an 8 tooth in the pic.???

Mike Swiss swapped the pinion in the very beginning suggesting that brass was too soft and contributed to the wonky gear or something. Mentioned putting in a steel pinion and a Parma gear. That was before the motor took a dive...

I didn't switch pinions until after the crown got chewed up and the motor blew.
The motor still ran on the power supply so I went ahead and did the gear change
in case the car could still be raced.

I switched to the smaller 6T because of the clearance problems with the
the back of the Parma gear.
Even with the 6T, the back of the Parma crown had to be ground.

The original worn brass 8T and the chewed up Cox crown should be in the Dyna-Rigg box
which should arrive on Friday with the cars.
