I would like to stick to my (foot in mouth) words since I smoked.
Can the car be shipped "back to the shop" for repairs and sent on to the next race at my expense?

J. if I can get another body pulled would it be OK to send it along to one of the future races?
Al, there is nothing wrong with a little battle damage. But, If you want to send in another body... get busy and git'er done!
J, you are correct of course, and I wont be bothering unless the damage is seriously affecting performance. Nothing better than a few scars to show that it has been in the thick of it. lol !

Jairus,

Yes it can and that is why I put everyone's mailing address on the individual shipping boxes.
Send Mike Swiss a PM and tell him I said it is approved.

Hey maybe I should let other people drive my cars all the time! ..... Wanted: proxy driver needed for Team CORT......
Well done guys!
I would like to thank everyone that has made this series happen. I was one of the lucky ones invited to race these wonderful cars last night @ Chicagoland Raceway (thanks Mike) and had a great time. In the past, these old cars did not really interest me but now I have a new appreciation for them. Its was very fun to drive all the different cars and have to learn each one on the fly. If anyone gets the chance to participate in the next races, it is not to be missed. Great fun.

Much appreciated.
Al's damage.
He should be given credit for pulling something this thin and intricate.
BTW, FWIW, I just ran a 6.36 with Al's car in this condition.
He qualified at 6.45.

I'll be dropping it in the mail shortly.Yes it can and that is why I put everyone's mailing address on the individual shipping boxes.

If I don't hear from Bob, I'll assume he doesn't need the Ray Price motor.

Deep intake of breath.......
I'll put an order in for some slightly thicker PETG, and get a start on a new body, meanwhile...She might not be pretty, but if she's still a runner then let her run.
I see the chassis withstood the impact, intact.
BTW, FWIW, I just ran a 6.36 with Al's car in this condition.

Do you think that strapping tape is having a positive affect upon the aero? lol.

Too bad your awesome body is blemished as such but, congrats on the great run, looks like a great runner wish I could have driven it.
You may want to consider a little reinforcement tape & silicone adhesive in strategic areas under the body. I had great luck in the Sunchaser with my Alien body coming back virtually unscaved so, I did the same with the Scorpions this trip. (of course, I'm not that concerned with weight & air control like SOME people, LOL )
If you want me to try my machine to pull some bodies as we talked about earlier I would certainly offer my help if needed.

Mike Swiss has set the bar very high by broadcasting the entire event via real-time streaming. While I personally could not view (old video card), I gather from the comments it was a complete success!
Because of Mike's careful qualification process we managed to divide the entries into three mains which kept the cars running in more or less equal races. Seems a fantastic time was had by all and I really wish I could have taken part. (Ah well...)
Race points have been awarded for places and congratulations go out to Barney Poynor, Steve Kempson and Rob Hanson for taking podium! You guys deserve it!
The next race, slated to take place on June 18th, will be divided into three mains based on this races results with "Dyna-Rigg" requalifing once repairs made. (As will any returning entry) No need for re-qualifications for the rest of the field as these cars do not need the added risk unless repairs are made.
Congratulations to all for surviving a wonderful kick-off to the Dynamic Proxy Challenge! (With sympathies to Bob Israelite and John Dilworth.) Thank you drivers for volunteering your time and a huge THANK YOU to Mike Swiss for the time you put in hosting this first leg.
Onward and upward!

I was extremely privelaged to be one of the Chicago area racers Mike invited to race the cars in the first leg of the Dynamic Challenge Thingie Proxy Race. I have to tell you that it was a real blast driving these rolling works of art. The creativity and building skills of all of the cars owners has to be admired by anyone who in involved in the hobby. When I first arrived at the track I spent a good hour just looking at all of the cars. (yes, there was some drooling on my part) It was very interesting to see the various chassis designs, powerplants, bodies, and paint work up close. Some of the builders stuck to the designs that were run back in the 60s. Some others incorperated more current designs while still using some parts from back in the day. Ultimately there are really no winners or losers here. Just an amazing collection of cars that express the passion and creativity of their owners / builders. Kudos to all of you.
Cheers

Note, Dave Crevie ran fast time with 6 of the 9 cars in the "C" and he was
last with Bob I.'s car after it "died", or it might of been 7.

Lexan is what you need.... thicker PETG will want to shatter "quicker" than thinner PETG. A thicker body may slow your car down a bit as well.
Shoe-Goo works wonders on keeping bodies from splitting and cracking. Add a thin layer in the areas that will split or crack.
To Mike Swiss.... excellent job on running this round of the Proxy races. Great Job

That does not give much time for repairs to "Dyna-Rigg".
Might have to pay a bit more for postage now....

We will run them first then they will be able to run CanAm and F1. It should be fast if we can get all cars qualified and ready to race by 8:30- 9. We could be done by 11am (as this is when many of our races start anyhow) and then start the tech for the D3 stuff.
If we tried to get all the legends to come in on the 18th I think we will not have them all and this would be a shame. So I guess I will post this to make sure everybody understands how important it is for them to get to the track no later than 9:am.

If it's allowed (?), I would be happy to build John D a new FT16D Mabuchi motor. I don't know what gears he had trouble with, but I have some here I could send along with the motor if that helps. John...if you're looking in or someone knows how to contact him, maybe ask the powers that be and PM me. The only problem is it's going to be awfully tight to get it done and to BP for the next race. I have a full dance card this weekend with a gig tomorrow and recording someone most of Sunday. I would give it my best to get it in the post by Tuesday and then someone would have to volunteer to install it at BP.

Mike replaced the canted Cox Crown gear with a Parma gear. The Fat side of the gear needed to be ground down to clear the dyna-flex motor bracket. I'm sure it will be sent with the car

that is very gracious of you and I believe Mr. Dilworth would be very pleased to accept!
Like you mentioned, the time is short. Mike is mailing all the cars on Monday with Bob Israelites machine going home for repairs and John Dilworth's moving ahead to the land of sunshine via priority mail so Barney can pull the motor apart and find out just what is the problem.
At this time Barney and I worked up a solution to get by the next race where "Dyna-Rigg" can actually run-with-the-pack. But if you want to put together a new primary motor to be installed before Sydney. I say GO FOR IT!
(I will let Howmet TX know)
