Thank you for your comments. I have always had great admiration and respect for you, that is why it affected my decision so. In the future I will build chassis and motors (even though I did do a lot of the precompletion work of those myself).
This entire forum and especially the gents here in thingies are an incredible bunch to hang with, and I love being back. Whether I can get a car together with a competent motor remains to be seen!
Thanks again...

Hey Maximo, welcome back. If you need a motor, I'll hook you up with a freebie if you can get the setup (can / endbell). You just might have to wait a couple of weeks or so, as I'm not doing any more motor work for a while.

John,
Thanks, I might have to take you up on that! I will let you know as right now I am trying aggressively to get parts together...

I formally withdraw my potential entry in the "Balls Out California Proxy" due to personal issues and situations that I still need to resolve.
Best regards and good luck to everyone as I will be observing from afar.

I am trying to resolve a number of different issues that arose right after I entered and therefore withdraw. If I am able to, I still want to participate and may enter at the final hour but that is my destiny right now.
The entry will be a different "name" than before. I remain committed as before.

Wow! The first of the Balls Out Proxy racers breaks ground! And it is a beauty!
What under the hood?
How wide is it?

Ray, what is the name/number of that body again? I may need some spares!!!
Jairus, you are right on the money. Attention. Between building and rebuilding and trying to drive the damn thing it takes more time that 5 flexis!!! But there is a lot of gratification there too. It's not near as pretty or refined as as some I've seen on the other threads, though. It's pretty much something I might have built 40 years ago only with better tools today. And the motor part is a lot of fun. So thanks for coming up with this.

The only name I ran across was No.# 10 choti- across-over/bridge between the original #5 Ultra body style and the beginning of the Deepdish series- I did 2 in the series. Looks great in orange let me know if youneed more thanks !

Slow progress here at The Old Forge, as work has been suprisingly hectic these last few weeks, but here are a few more spy shots.
I've had to hold off from a first pull of the body because of clearance issues, so when the chassis is complete I'll be able to work out if I need to rake the body slightly. Pics of the chassis are prior to any soldering being done. Hopefully I will start that tomorrow. Should have plenty of time on my hands now, so hoping to get a move on. All comments welcome.

I have to admit without coming up with one of my own suggestions yet, but 02R's "Excalibur" just sounds right!
