I love my shirt. Thx Jairus. Rather than poll builders or all of slotblog on concours, let the proxy drivers vote anonymously. After all, they get to see the actual cars, not some creative photography.
Why .... that's a good idea! One track or both?

I think David's suggestion is the best....let the proxy drivers vote anonymously. After all, they get to see the actual cars, not some creative photography.

All I know.....is that 14.3 volts on a rubbered up track will be high drama. I hope someone in silicone valley can take some pics or video.....
Thanks to Jairus, Rudy and I'm assuming Barney
And of course.......All of the entrants.......
Good luck to all

I remember. I was involved in the doodoo calling if you will remember.J
I hope people can vote only once as you might remember what happened in 2007 for the 2nd Proxy race Concourse voting, where we had people subscribing to Slotforum just to vote their "friends" (one in particular who I will not name...). A huge brouhaha ensued for days on SF's pages with a lot of uncalled doodoo flying around between mature people.
We had to get rid of the Concourse altogether to calm the "boys" down!
Actually it was kind of funny...

Everyone here has a good suggestion.
But remember this... if only the drivers vote on concourse, it will most likely be the drivers of the first race only. Because by the second race, if any cars get smoked... they won't even be looked at for concourse. A car that can't be driven will color their vote no matter how you suggest we do it!
If it's just the 19 entrants, that lets out some of the builders who didn't enter but have still been following this race closely.
If we do a private vote no matter how restricted the voting block, someone has to be trusted to count the votes and report back.
My thoughts were that we preform the concourse based on the "Cars Thread" alone. The reasons for this are varied but the most important is that the vote is NOT based on how the car performs. Because that is judged on the track!
To that end I have to decide whether to add yet another duty to Randy, that of picking a concourse car or, more simply, follow through on my original plan of setting up a poll thread linked to the Cars thread and call it good.
Restricting the poll to just entrants is impossible electronically, but... it will be mostly just entrants and a builder or two and a few watchers who will vote anyway. Most of the other guys on Slotblog have never opened this tread! Plus the votes are anonymous to all but Cheater who can look into the electronic records, so you CAN vote for your own car if you want to.
Logic 101.

I remember. I was involved in the doodoo calling if you will remember.
But we have a higher class of guys this time in my humble opinion.

I made sure I built my car ugly so no worries about the concours.IMO,,,,,concours should be voted on BY ONLY THE 19 RACERS entered in The Race,
and u cant vote for yourself,,,,

Thanks for the PM Bob.
On the contrary, I think your entry and your enthusiasm are top notch. I apologize for the jokes. Didn't realize this was so serious.

Tony P started a pool on FB to see how many cars smoke the first race or how many make it to the second race.
I'm afraid my car is toast.
I don't recall that much voltage (14.3V) back in the day!

The good news is at 14.3V, the cars might not stay in the slot long enough at one time for the motors to get hot enough
to melt the endbells.
