These pics of a unqiue track design were snagged from a post by Russell Martin on Facebook. The text seemed to indicate this was a track located in Corpus Christi. I've sure never seen one like it. Anyone have any info, perhaps how long this track was?

Russell Martin replies that he was always told it was 175 feet long.

This track was operational when I re-entered the world of slot cars in 2006, but it went dormant not too long after that... I never got to race on it.

Awesome race to take part in and superb track!!! Last time I raced on it the track was setup on the floor of the sports hall. Seems they've improved it by placing on tables :D Much more comfy marshalling!!

WOW!!!---Envious is not a powerful enough word...   I'd love to race there, but probably never will...

Chairs for the Marshals is much better than sitting on the floor, I agree...

Did you race with Team USA when they won it 3 straight?...   I've seen photos of it being run in a round type of building in a park at some point...

Maybe 200' or less back then...    All Tomy track then, too, I think...

Andy & Rob of the Wrun Wragged Team are super people...   Only *met* them through emails and on an HO site a few years ago...  Bought some cars from Rob...

1999 Team HORSE @ DHORC 24 hrs

Have raced the 24hrs a couple of times :D Winning on the maiden trip .... Was part of a purely UK based team as I was born & raised and still living in the UK at the time. But raced against Team USA and I think it was one of the first years to run on the complete track by Brad :good:

How could you see an HO car on that size track?

Although as the hours went by it got harder as tiredness crept in. :laugh2: Red Bull didn't give you wings but sure helped to keep track of the little things!

Here's a couple of sectional tracks snagged from Ryan Hirashiki's Facebook timeline. No further info provided, so I have no idea where these two tracks are located.

attachicon.gifhometrack.jpg

Unusual to see a 1/32 sectional track with this much bank. Lots of racing in what seems to be a compact footprint.

I had the pleasure  to drive at Wonderland as a young lad. Great track, so much character and that drop off in the distance was a thrill. As you can see you drove from the top of the banking which gave you good visibility.  Id love to have features like this today. Some of the new tracks here seem a little sterile by comparison.

Several other track pics from Steph's Facebook page. No info was provided for any of these images.

Clearly a rally track (notice the snow section), but I can't tell if this is a home/club track or located in a commercial facility. My guess would be the former due to the decorations.

attachicon.gifp10.jpg

Got to be a home or club track, due to the copper tape and the scenery. Not too many places where passing can be accomplished. Bet this would be a blast to race on.

attachicon.gifp11.jpg

Without a doubt a basement track and congrats to the builder for shoehorning a four-lane sectional tracks of that size into that space. Don't even want to think about marshaling this track...

I built that rally track in 1997 or 1998. It was in France, close to Geneva, Switzerland. In that commercial slot center, I built too a six-lanes wooden track and a drag track. It closed after a few years. :-(

I'm surprised no one has posted Florida's own 1/24 Daytona speed way located in Holly Hill, FL. Simple but still quite strange and frequented by a few Cup stars during time off around Speedweeks.

It even converts from Daytona superspeedway tri-oval to Daytona road course minus the bus stop on the back straight.

That's as close to a flat track as we have in Florida. Fun track to race on, after seven years I can almost drive it. LOL.

That is what happens to a flat track in Florida with all your sinkholes!

What's unnerving is practicing on the road course when the top for lanes are set up for the oval which is usually the case when you go to practice. Never get to run the top four lanes until raceday, that's why it takes so long to learn the track.

But after seven years I do like it.

Cheers.

The first day I went there my words were how the f*** do you marshal it. For practice there are long grabber poles. For the races you have to crawl on your stomach under the bank on each end.

I agree with tony about practicing there being weird in the best way, especially when you are door to door with someone going down the front straightaway and you forget that they are running the oval and you are on the road course and you realize it just a little too late. LOL.

It took me two state races to learn that lesson LOL.

Speedzonenj.com has a flat track and a King. My son and I run the flat track all the time and then the King.

Flat tracks make you better in my opinion.

The track I learned to race on way back in the '60s. Track was in Orange, CA out on Tustin Ave. It was a interpretation of Riverside Raceway's long course. It was quite a challenge especially the down hill sweeper (Riverside turn 9) that tightened up then went off camber into the left turn (hidden behind the turn marshal). And another signature section is "The Mother of all Esses".

The Shop was called Frank's or Knapper's Hobby depending on the year. That's Doug Henline in the white shirt kind of hidden and Dave Grant next to him in the striped shirt.
