Mike, how many starters will we have?
Have you done any track testing yet?
It looks like 6 or 7.
I'll probably limit this race to the flat track to keep the attrition down.

Have you done any track testing yet?
I took a few laps awhile back with Pablo's.
Nothing on the others.
3 or 4 will be arriving with the drivers tomorrow.
I'll make sure the tires are well broken in with all the entrants.

I predict the race will be very very very close, and I'm sure the drivers will have a ball
Can you please ask all the drivers to Sharpie autograph my car ?

I agree... With the controlled bunch of parts on the cars, they should all be competitive.
Also, please sign my car after the racing on what is left of the body.

I plan to get the cars through this race intact, just giving them the bonus of getting
the tires super-trued.

How many races do you think we will have?
Steve King
Posted 26 June 2013 - 07:15 PM
As many until we get enough cars.
I run on 12V on either track, so longevity shouldn't be a problem.
With out Hot Rods, I'm not sure if anyone has to had to change motors.
Maybe 1 or 2 with a dozen or more races.

So.... Bob... finish her off and get her to Chicago. Plenty of racing ahead yet. Those nicks in the axle brace don't look like they will hurt the car.

The time for encouragement was 2 months ago. Not the day before the race.
I thought I would inspire people by building my car in a timely manner.
Boy was I wrong.
I could have delegated my work out and had a completed car within 2 months.

It's too late for the first race, for sure.
Your build did inspire, so there is no question there.
Sometimes life gets in the way, and priorities need to change. I'm an example of that.
When the deadline was anounced, I was able to change my priorities around a bit and was lucky enough to get my car done.
It wasn't because of slackness on my part before that, it was because I was busy doing other things.
This is a fun thing, and there are plenty of races to go, in which to have some fun.
So... Bob... come and have some fun with us. Your car looks great, and is sooo close to being done.

If I ever put on a proxy race, you guys are gonna hate me sooooo baaad.
(Maybe you already do)
I find myself getting angry..maybe it's time for me to stop doing proxy racing.
The procrastinators always have excuses about life getting in the way, etc.

That edit is very negative.
Procrastinators procrastinate about whether or not to do something like enter an event, or other activity.
Once the decision has been made they are no longer procrastinators.
Clearly, we all have different approaches to life and you seem to be in the enviable postion to be able to do anything you want at any time. So, you are able to rip in and get a car done pretty quickly. You are lucky, and have the drive to make it happen.
Many of us are not so lucky, so a bit of compassion would help.

I don't think anyone would question your compassion in that sense. You are in deed very generous in that sense.
I should have clarified my comment by saying;
"Many of us are not so lucky, so a bit of compassion and understanding of other peoples circumstances in regards to this would help."
I think we have hi-jacked this thread far too long, so this will be my last comment on this matter, and you may have the last word if you so wish.
Bob, please come and join us.

X2. Thanks for understanding my emotions, Steve
My compassion and understanding is 110% for those who help themselves.
Bob is my friend. Not one single email from him saying,
"Hey bro, I'm having a problem meeting this deadline...."
Maybe I'm not talented enough to help him.

Less pics, more finishing, come on, you are 90% on a beautiful car. Less burnouts more building! Just kidding,it is a great setup.
Thanks Brassrodman .... I'm about as burned out as a 'carbon footprint' on Fathers Day ... 90% toasted.
Build looks great Bob.......Git 'er done...lol....How does the pan section hinge/rotate in the rear?
Thanks Ray ... like my redneck buddy says " Don't get heartburn in the first place"
No hinge ... It's a dead weight sprung twisty trickster.... More tricks then a clowns pocket on Halloween.

Pablo ... you are like the Drill Sergeant of slotcars.. Gator Bob !!! Get down and give me 50 for being a slacker.
Dude ... you don't even change ur own earl in ur car. <sarc on> I only race proxy to finish ahead of you .... the procrastination factor worked ... I beat your best in two out of three already ... I'll miss this first race this time to give you a chance with a head start so you don't lose 3 outa 3
We are sooo far apart on some stuff ... that's why you’re My PaBro

I know you guys don't like 'my crazy' taste in music.... but ... It goes exactly like this .... if ya can't take the music, cut the sound off and just read the words. All of them, please.
=====================
So here is the idea if it is OK with Mike.....
"A team mate" .. I'll send what I got to Mike... someone finish 'er up ... join the fun ... Dave, Bernie or anyone that needs more fun in life.
You’re all my friends.
If not a good idea or no interest in teaming ... I will build on, when the inspiration returns, it is a hobby!
BTW: I think the car might be a runner.
