I went ahead and qualified the 5 more official cars.
5 laps each round, on Blue lane.
2 rounds to make sure the first guy got a 2nd shot at a better track.
Manta Ray's car went 6.21 each round, but the spread top to bottom was very close, 6.21-6.31.
Dave Crevie then walked in carless.
I prodded him to get his developmental car out of his trunk.(one that has been well tested)
It ran 6.04 in the first 5 lap round.
But in the 2nd 5 lap round, I could only manage 6.23.
That car will noted as such in the results.
The 6 drivers are now out there practicing with all the cars.

I'm starting to get the grim realization I might of made the price of the kit too cheap, and it's been too easy for guys to blow off/ put off the build.
OK, Gentleman, if your name is below, and haven't already sent me your car, please contact me if you are still interested,
and a realistic time you can get your car to me.
I'll give those gentleman a few days to spot this, and then I'll start PM'ing them.
Thanks to the guys that did get their cars done, and have been extremely patient so far.

If it can pass the rules that are still open ... there is a team entry coming in.
The #9 entry .. T. Przybylowicz / B. Israelite ... With local favorite R. Price as the Crew Chief .... sponsored by Gator-Aid.
"We are lucky that MantaRay has jumped on board for this prestigious event and he will dig deep to keep us up front. We are confident that he can come up with a specially matched set of tyreez and mix things up with the big boys on the fast ChicagoLand King." Said someone.

I wish I had a grandkid; the Kurtis Kit would be perfect to coach a kid through a complete build and paint.
And they can race it without spending a fortune, or trips to the emergency room

I'll loan you one of mine. Would you like a 6 year old of a 4 year old model? The 6 year old has made some wooden cars, so he comes with experience. You'll have to fly your choice from AZ to MS & return.

Send the 6 yr old, I'll take him for a week, then back he goes
I'll have him rewinding arms, painting bodies, and soldering brass in no time.

Mike, how many races are we having?
One on the Flat and one on the King, the same night, Oct.17th.
Mike Brannian bought a kit and mentioned Jim Cunningham / Nomad has expressed interest in holding a race on a bit shorter track in So-Cal.
After the Oct .17th race, I'll be happy to send any cars off to him, if guys agree to it , or send any, or all cars back to the owner.
IOW, if the Nomad, or any other race materializes, it'll of course, be voluntary.
Or if any entrant wants their car sent back to them now, because it's been a long wait, that's OK with me to.
I now realize, the low cost formula, while good for a fair amount of guys buying kits, without a huge investment, it apparently has become a little
too easy to put them on the back burner.
