Indeed Bob I am...and I am here to stay
Steve lol you are right.
At the moment I have 2 cars in 2 different proxies touring the world.
The lucky 13 Thingie proxy and the 1/32 hard body World Rally Proxy although I am going to stop doing hard body proxies and concentrate more on build proxies.
And then there is the 3d that is getting completed very soon, the Balsa wood Triumph TR3 for the GoodWood Proxy, my first attempt at a Balsa wood car.

... With the controlled bunch of parts on the cars, they should all be competitive.

Not too sinister... lol
I sent the body out with pictures of the Smokey for paint. The Gold came back as GREEN with a touch of Gold.
Not even CLOSE to the pictures and description.
Pablo sent me a Great and beautiful set of matching Gold/Red/Black numbers and the Green killed that idea.
So .. I got totally frustrated and compressed the Smokey U. and the Tony P. programs together into one car.
The car will be simple Evil Orange #9, "olé Blue Eyes" in the cockpit with a Gator Built 'Jaws' chassis and final assembly by Ace set-up Crew Chief "MantaRay" Price.
Beware - Gator Chill-in

Jens wait for Ray's info before you start soldering and built a Fritz Fend Kabinenroller instead of a Frank Kurits Indy car.

Jens,
Was the axle tube height set with a 1/8th axle and bushings using the 1" jig blocks?

Yes. Clearance should be a little bit more than .050 as the jig blocks were for retro cars!

Quote:
Cars would require a 3 7/8" WB and max., 1/4" guide lead, a mandatory .050" F & R clearance, with all other chassis design , wide open.
Converting this to millimeters gives me:
Cars would require a 98.425mm WB* and max., 6.35mm guide lead, a mandatory 1.27mm F & R clearance, with all other chassis design , wide open.
*WB = Wheelbase from mid center front to mid center rear?
please correct me if I am wrong
And please advice me what the maximum track is as I was unable to find that.
(and most surely just overlooked it)
