Decisions, decisions! ![:wacko2:](http://slotblog.net/public/style_emoticons/default/wacko2.gif)
I've had a heck of a time deciding on a period Korrect body that fits an inline 36D. Many of the contemporary roadsters are simply to low to cover a 36D and still fit in an interior. The beautiful Lancer Ferrari 330 and 365 would work but I really want to run a sidewinder in them that would allow a full interior.
FINALLY....I decided on this, a vintage Dubro Ford GT40:

It's a really lovely body that fits the mockup wheels and motor well. Unfortunately it's pretty yellowed:

Some colors really show the yellowing but I found one that won't:

This car ran at Spa in 1966 and is a beautiful metallic British racing green:

I can use Testor's metallic British racing green with a gold backer. That should complement the yellowing nicely.
Next, I wanted to make sure I could fit a driver above that honk'n motor:

I ended up making up a simple period flat stock interior to make sure everything would fit:
![36DSportsCar15.jpg](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v166/dc65x/Slot%20Blog-2/R%20and%20C%2036D%20Sports%20Car/36DSportsCar15.jpg)
Here's the pieces, parts:

The interior was bent up from .015" sheet styrene with a .125" square styrene riser in the back. The intake stack is from a Cox Ford GT. The driver is a Cox body with a K&B head (with a slight lobotomy to clear the roof
) and an instrument binnacle from a Monogram Porsche 904.
Now it's off to wheel and tire land to make that decision.............. ![:dance3:](http://slotblog.net/public/style_emoticons/default/dance3.gif)
