I won't be finished till the night before .. it's always that way.... "I can make it BETTER".  Then something gets 'messed up' ... that happened twice trying to build a better mousetrap motor bracket when it 'fell apart'.  I have to learn more about using solders with diff. melting points.

Paul, The endplates are Kemtron ...fragile little buggers.

Joe, It a 3/32" axle car. I'm not sure if the Faas gear is time stamp legal... huh?

Don, Sorry to hear about the decals and hope the clear didn't mess them up. Thanks for all you do and I'm glad we have another venue to play with these.

My motor program is 'un-developed' and it looks like stock motors all around for me ... trying light weight and tall gear combo.

All, these cars are handled with great care, the guys that will be running them have super nice hi-detail model body cars. They know careful.

If I drive BillB's BadAss car 'out the back door' and hit the pillow that's different, the car is 'just too damn fast'... LOL... Oops...

Holy drag racing damage batman!? :shok: Was that the Russkit rail Bill?

Make that 2 of us entering "Weekend thrashing"  :laugh2:

You could basically say we now have 4 cars completed and ready for mailing come Monday, with just some weight to be added and minor "details" to be finished.

But I give you at least a few of the competitors.

Thought you guys would get a hoot out of of this. Remember, everything 40 plus years old except lead wire. I dive into the aged " Joey bag-o-donuts " and pull out four. Thin and tall like the rear car.

Set them up on my ultra modern truer and there you go. Causes quite a load on the electrical grid when you switch her on though  :)

By the way, the American Civil Liberties Union has asked me to remove that "Redskin" (actually Yellow ) or face serious jail time  :o

Bill, sorry to see that damaged body :o

Paul E, I can't believe how nice those cars turned out. Totally unique :victory:

Have you made a pass with that 500 yet?

I built a little Datsun a while ago that I thought would be really quick. The wheelbase was so small and the car was so fast and light it didn't even stay in the slot the whole quarter. I'm interested to hear how that little car ran.

Thanks Joe :good: unique was what I was aiming for :D

No passes with the 500 or any of the cars under my control as no strip nearby ..

The only car that has made a pass is the Beetle that ran last year sporting a new hardbody and *hopefully* faster motor.

The short wheelbase is probably a recipe for FUN but will be applying a good dose of lead to the chassis :laugh2:

If it works the dc65 is actually attached to the ISO hinging part so acts as weight for the front wheels pressing down on the guide/center section.

WHAT HAPPENED Bill?

OMG it looks like you lost in a Skill saw race or it was left on the tracks big end when a top fuel Bulldozer made a pass ... Hope you can fix'em up... it's a sweet car.

Paul E. your cars came out great. The Flintstone machine is 'totally radical'.

On the strip will Purple Reign? :D

Joe, Your tire machine is 'AC-Punk' and I love it. Can I come over and have coffee and donuts with you.

If the ACLU or the NAACP comes and gives you trouble about the Red Man decal ... make a Funny Face :laugh2:

Quick rules question. Can I solder the motor leads to the screws on the guide or do they have to be under the screw.

Soldering to the screws, tabs, ring lug conn. or fork lug conn. is all fine.

Drilling a piece of brass and making your own tab is OK, ... K&B has some terminal 'lugs' on a blister card IIRC.

Joe ... great video.

Did you see the JAZZ funny car body?

Local George Hawes drove that as a Jet car will be driving for us again this year and will be joining with his 'new' Henry-J car.

I told him to bring his FASTEST to run against our slowest in a 2 out of 3 dial-in fun race at the end.

That's good thanks. . All cars/motors are wired correctly, but seeing as you mentioned it Bob was best to make sure :good:

Normal rail is now finished, just gotta true up the tires and give it a run in , unlimited is well underway as I type :D

*edit* spoke too soon... Unlimited isn't gonna make it :(

Main cool idea has totally backfired & can't retrofit to normal in time.

!&$^$^!&!& it :laugh2:

Last minute Mothers day thrash. Did so much work today.

Here is the interior bucket. Modded roll bar, shifters and throttles installed. Driver is a Cox that I had to build up with putty as he sat way too low. A piece of seat added behind driver.

You can also see all the work needed to get that guide to work as well.

DSC06426.JPG

Here is the car as finished as it's going to get except for maybe shaving the wheel covers to fit, paint them and install them.

Thanks Paul, I am anxious to see real times as it scoots down my home "test" track pretty good. I hope they have some serious glue at the end. This thing is so heavy it will go through cement wall past the traps.

Now to finish the rail. Originally going to go with a Fiat body, then aluminum and now a '33 Willys. Need to add a body to get it over 8" for the rail class. Using a used body that I made a firewall for. Motor is from the pile and is one someone assembled 40 years ago. Ain't gonna be pretty overall but it is what it is.

Of course I ran into a problem with the chassis. Now theres a surprise  :laugh2:

The little chrome 4-40 nuts I was going to use would not lock down tight enough to prevent movement. I found these vintage aircraft nuts at my friends fathers house who used to work for Grumman. Now she locks down tight but I had to do some more fiddling. Some of these same nuts may have been used on the Lunar Module  :shok:

Hope I can make it all happen in the next two days  :wacko2:

Nice rail :D

Well that's all our cars officially finished !! Minus the unlimited. .

Just second guessing myself over how much weight to have in the rail & fiat 500 shorty :laugh2: Not enough and they pull a Don's Topolino, too much & they burn out or go slow...

Excellent, already have some stuck to the underside at the front on a couple of the bodies. Although those may come in handy Bob!

That crash happened some time ago and I was able to repair it. I've run many many races with this body but its time to replace it before it gets damaged beyond repair. For this race I'm using one of the new Lexan bodies made from the original Dubro mold.  A change in color and a new Blown HEMI. Tried some different stripe combinations but ended up going back to the original look.

Everyone's Hot Rods are looking Great!!! ...the hammered 32 Sedan is what its all about, Very Cool Paul. :good:

Joe, your 33 Willy's is another one of my all time favorites!!! :victory:

Bob, you had me going there.....thought for a moment you hit the Mother Load of Neo's :laugh2:
