OK, I'll have to overnite it tomorrow. Gonna cost me an extra $20 but thats what I get for draggin' my ***   Just couldn't do it today. I do have a life you know. Kids braces coming off, pick up kids, walk dog, make wifes lunch etc. 

 

Here's what the rail looked like this morning.

 

 

Now some yellow paint and a body post finished. Motor hacked up to fit and Zoomies added. Interior cut and awaiting a plate and finishing etc. I cut about a 1/4" off the tires and radiused the wells also to get the body lower. 

 

Thinking of throwing that Dodge in for the wheelie contest. It will need some new shoes etc.

Wish I'd got a chance to make some replica altered 392 Hemi headers for the Topolino ,would of really finished it off..

Express mail $$$$ as lady in the post office reckoned they were behind on priority so no 100% cast iron guarantee it would get there Friday.

Soooo an arm and a leg and possibly an internal organ says it will reach Bill tomorrow by 3pm

Paul I think you would have been OK with Priority, sometimes Parcel Post is faster by one day....

Guess it is better to be safe than sorry.

Pitt Man's and Manta Ray's entries show "out for delivery"

 

Here's a shot of Manta Ray's Willys at the track.

 

It now has an interior and hood scoop to fill up the gaps.

 

Fixing this old beast up, I decided not to change anything if I could, just put it back like it was when first built.

 

I turned the really beat Ram comm, zapped it, added modern rear tires and one solder joint to the front body mount.

 

Also, the drop arm was hinged with a 2-56 bolt through some 5/32" tubing resulting in a huge amount of slop in the drop arm.

 

I "sleeved it" with a piece of 1/8" tubing and it's much, much better.

 

A bit of oil here and there, 2 new motor mount bolts, axle spacers, lotsa weight in the front and TLC and it was done!

 

Other than that, it's all original. It has an interesting motor brush set up. One brush is a long arm Pittman and the other is a short Ram arm. In effect, it has advanced timing!
