Would be nice if Rod & Custom would say a few words on their behalf, right?

A good idea, but ask if today's Rod & Custom publishers know there was a Rod & Custom sponsored slot car race series back in the 60's? It's publishers have changed at least once, probably more.
I intend to live forever! So far, so good.

It's publishers have canceled the mag Bill.
It is NO MORE as of the October issue.
(This is the second time I think)

I didn't know this. The first car magazine I ever bought was a fifty-nine cent copy of Rod & Custom back about 1961. That issue covered Ed Roth's, then new, Beatnik Bandit. I saw copies of a new Rod & Custom issue on a magazine stand this morning. If the publishers are killing the magazine, they aren't going to want to sponsor anything using its name.
I intend to live forever! So far, so good.

I've got an R&C Models from 11/64 and that's all.
"We offer prompt service... no matter how long it takes!"
"We're not happy unless you're not happy"
"You want it when?"

I've got all the R&C issues with slot articles, reaching back to 1957 (it was rail racing then of course), all the way to 67, and I think they mentioned it a few times since.
But I can't imagine that it's the same publisher as back in the day; Petersen Publishing I think...

Update,
Don Siegel's cars were first to arrive. He's included a stash of original (not repoped) Cox Super Soft braid to be distributed amongst the entrants. Thanks Don!
Next to arrive were Pablo's cars.
The cars of Steve O, Jairus and Don Weaver are in the mail.
5 other Slotblogers have shown us cars they could enter. I hope you guys can get them in the mail soon. The last day for me to bring them to Eddie's is Thursday 7/17
Don't worry about your cars if you chance a late shipment. If I miss them and can't bring them down to Eddie's, there are people here to safely receive your cars and I'll get them back to you.
ONWARD! Back to 1966

Is tomorrow the drop dead mailing date from L.A., or do you think Wednesday will be good?

I don't know USPS shipping details Dennis. I do know there is no formal overnight delivery to our rural area.

That's why the "Express" overnight from our area to yours Rick is more than likely taking the extra day, as outlined by the USPS worker. But she did say it's possible it may get to you tomorrow.

It's 2 AM and still thrashing on my heap. . .
Body is mounted and sorta painted, motor is on the power supply, chassis is a roller.
Going to snooze for a couple hours. . .
