I just received my "back issue" premiere copy. I just wanted to say that the subject matter, content, picture quality, everything about this magazine is fantastic. Nice, heavy paper, the whole shootin' match. Not EVERY article was of interest to me, but I don't expect them to be, as diverse as our sport is. My compliments to everybody involved. I will be subscribing. By far the best slot car mag I've ever seen.

I would like to know if anyone has received more than one issue of the new mag through subscription? I'm asking this question because as of today I have only received the very first issue, and I can't see how the subscription can be filled with a proper number of issues to justify a bi-monthly production. I thought that I was helping the publication by subscribing, but I now wish I had waited and purchased it from the newsstand or local track. I have complained to the publisher, and only got excuses. My next and final action will be to request my money back. This is not only with the slot car mag, but also the model car mag as well.

2nd issue is at the printers right now. All subscribers will receive 6 issues regardless if they are published this year or the next.
We will print nothing until it's worth printing is my motto.

Tony P is exactly right!!! this mag does not need to print race reports that anyone can read about on the web. One of the big problems SARN had in the internet age was that much of its content was stale race reports. Good how-to content is priceless!
As to HO, well its a waste of space IMO, & plastic 1/32 is not far behind... but thats just me.
I haven't been here on SB recently because I am slot drag racing 4 to 5 nights a week at 3 different tracks...
Haven't seen this publication yet, but looking forward to it. Since I moved, I haven't gotten back to the Drag construction article I am working on, must rectify this soon.
OK now I got to chime in when you said H/O is a waste of space you have no clue, I have been doing H/O for over 35 years and I have been 1/24th racing for 15 and drag racing for about 1 year, so you might want to back off from something you might not have enough knowledge or experience with.

One comment on the original issue.
I found the "back to basics" articles an excellent source for some fresh perspective on some things even for experienced racers-car prep, slot boxes, etc.. Most importantly I think these articles give a reference source that those of us who know our way around a pit box and a track that we can refer novices and "newbies" to for basic primer information. "Get a copy of this magazine....." It is also a resource they can hold in their hand and reference with regularity as opposed to finding similar info on the internet that is not in front of them once the computer is turned off. A magazine can always be in someone's face and within reach. It will keep them thinking about slot racing maybe all the time like we did when we were younger.
Looking forward to the second edition.

OK, so I'm incorrect in thinking that a year's subscription covers the number of issues you will receive in a year, but that it covers a total of 6 issues that will be received whenever??? And I made the mistake of signing up for a two year subscription that may continue 'til I'm dead. This falls under the heading of BS!!!! Total BS, and now I have to keep track of how many issues I receive, not how many months are left in my subscription....

Email from da boss;
Issue #2 of Slot Cars Magazine has been printed and I have been informed that it was mailed this week (June 19, 2015). If you have signed up before June 10, you should receive your copy soon. I will try and see if we can do a second mailing for the subscriptions started after June 11.

Yes, the magazine is late.
No, it's not B.S.
Do you think I'm trying to rip everyone off, make a ton of money, and fly away to paradise?
Well, right now, I'm about $5k in the hole.
So, if I was trying to rip everyone off, I did something really wrong....
Second issue is mailed
We are finishing up the third issue.
We need more input, good and bad, on what you want to see.
Remember, I come from 15 years of publishing Model Cars Magazine, and slot cars are "new" to me.
I am learning along the way.
My "passion" or what I like the most in slots are the Slot.it cars, they are to me the top notch cars I like to see.
I like the hard body stuff, since almost all our our model car skills, tricks, and tips carry over to these cars.
The scratch building stuff is neat, and I have learned more in the past six months on soldering then I have in the 20+ years of doing model cars.
So why is the issue always late?
Once again, a picture is worth a thousand words:
There are over 4,000 members on this forum.
Come on guys, this is the chance to make this magazine your own.
We listen to what you have to say.
But we also need your support.
Mahalo nui loa!

Hi Gregg
Nobody who reads the news here at Slotblog thinks any of that. (and we know you already live in paradise )
I promise you, any Slotblog posters complaining of your magazine's "speed of advance" will be referred to previous posts in this thread that fully explain it.

If you don't have #1 get it while you can Worth the read and the wait. I carry it with me when going on service calls to show people what slots are today.

Could the magazine be dropped off at certain libraries. Doctors offices. Hobby shops near raceways. Bars. Jails. New car dealers waiting rooms. Hotels. Motels. Tattoo shops to raise awareness?
Jails? I think they would rather have some magazines that pertain to other "slots".

Jails are what is called a captive audience. They would read and hopefully share that magazine many times. Then they might visit a raceway when they get out.
