Pablo, your article about Dennis' wheels is a good one, and I hope you share more of your slot car experiences by contributing to the magazine.

The main reasons that I used to buy Model Car Science (and the like) for as a kid, were articles like that, plus seeing all the good new stuff to buy.

:)

I don't envy Jairus's work as an Editor! His job is too inspire others to share their gifts!!!

If this was video games he would be fighting off the possible onslaught of hungry contributors!

This is the chance for those with true slot car knowledge to share that expertise with those who come next and will carry this hobby forward! There is a saying that you live only as long as the last person that knew you utters your name and memory.

Contribute to this great media vehicle and let slot cars LIVE on!!!

If I had more that I could contribute, I WOULD! There are those who are natural for this and should share their gifts and knowledge with the rest of this incredible hobby.

Got my first issue! Nice. Picked it up at a local hobby shop that had them on the shelf.

Picked up a copy at the R4/8.

Great "how to" articles on a chassis build and soldering tips for the more seasoned builder and/or the absolute novice. Good article on slot car boxes for people new to the  hobby or those transitioning from a basement dweller to commercial raceway.

If you have people hanging around the raceway new to the hobby, showing interest, and not sure how to make the jump recommend this issue to give them an overview.

Brought back memories of reading "Model Car Science", "Model Racing Journal", "Car Model", "Miniature Auto Racing", and others till the edges were tattered back in the day. By the way... I still have them.

It was one of two fantastic jobs Dennis Sampson and Noose did for a trip in 2010 to BPR, L. A., with my two kids Theresa and Justus

Jens, I do recall reading the coverage of your & your two kid's 2010 trip to BPR. I remember the Mercury bodied stock cars but didn't remember the Lotus 40 jail door racers. Thanks for bring it all back to my memory. :)

I believe next issue will be in Barnes & Nobel.  They wanted to view the first issue in corporate before approval.

Still working on B&N.

They are treating as new title, since now it's all in my hands now (long story, don't want to bore you with details).

I have the online subscriptions set up.

You can also get digital versions through Magzter.com

There is a link on the subscription page for the digital copy also.

The yearly subscription payment is through PayPal, and it is working fine.

Thanks so much for your patience.

Remember, don't yell at Jairus, yell at me.

It's my fault it's late, things aren't going as smoothly as they should, and the admin side is way behind.

Much mahalo to you all.

PLEASE NOTE: All subscriptions started after April 2015 will not include the first/Premier Issue.

Just checked out the subscription page and noticed this.

As I have already got a copy of the first issue, it would be best for me to subscribe in May, so that my initial subscription issue would be #2?

Thanks.

Well I subscribed two months ago and have not received my first issue. Guess I'm SOL. SARN all over again.

The office informed us that they did a second mailing last week.

You have to look at the numbers to see what happens.

To mail a copy out regular USPS First Class, would cost $3 or so, that's just postage.

Copy sells for $6.50, so that would in effect, negate any profit on that issue.

Now, times that by six, and well, this would not last

We have to mail via the slower second class/periodical postage rate, which is slower. Nothing we can do about that.

We can't just go mail one, two, or three copies at that rate.

There has to be 50 lbs, minimum.

You can order the premiere issue, it's $10, postage paid, and you would get it pretty quickly.

I think some of the online dealers still have copies.

It's still a work in progress, working out the bugs.

I did mess up with that initial post office mailing, I just assumed it would follow under Model Cars mailing, so much for assuming.

Thanks for your patience.

Sam, you got to build all the articles in issue #1 before you can get a copy of issue #2. :good: That's in the fine print somewhere. :laugh2:

Bill,

Have you seen the Ferrari 250 GTO build? :o

I will do a Retro build or two but that is out of my league.

I'll patiently wait for the #2 issue.

I hate to use this cliche, but the next issue literally hours away from being ready to print.

I know, what a bum, what kind of deal is this?

It's the best I can do. Working on trying to get everything on schedule.

Thanks again for your patience.
