To all involved with Slot Cars Magazine, thank you for another nicely published, well written, first-rate edited, and superbly illustrated issue. The diverse and informative articles make this a historically important hobby magazine.

A question to international subscribers of 'Slot Cars Magazine'.

Have you received issues 1, 2, or 3 via the normal subscription mail process?

Are there any subscribers in Australia who have received (or not received) their subscription?

I purchased issue #1 from PCH, and it arrived in just over a week. (Thanks Scott).

I loved issue #1, and then I subscribed in time for issue #2, but have not received either 2 or 3 via the subscription.

So I'm just curious to know if I'm the only one not receiving them, or if there are others missing out as well.

Noticed on the sister magazine a piece about a  Red Line tech/tach block. Any one here use/has one? If good are they still available?

Publisher assured me it would be printed before the end of 2015.
But wasn't in MY mail box yet so.... probably sometime in January.
Should be a good issue with a theme concentrating on hard body slots.

Am I correct in saying that the next issue of this mag will be #4?  If so, how will the number of yearly issues in a subscription be determined?

Issue #3 is still for sale. Each magazine sold is a yes vote to the publishing and production team to keep making these nice magazines.

I don't think I received a batch of issue 3. I had received the first two issues to sell at the shop but didn't receive three. Am I on the list?

Yes- I enjoyed the article on the Dynamic build-up an article that brings me back to building a vintage sot car from parts. I will one day attempt to build one using this article as my guide.  I also am thankful that this magazine will continue on even with a series of setbacks.   As Scale Hardbody racing is growing here in the USA I hope that we will see regular articles showing the cars being built and raced with comparisons to the various types of chassis/motor/body combinations.

  Looking forward to issue #4.

I just saw Greg yesterday at the annual Hawaii Model Car Show sponsored by Greg's Model Car Magazine at the Ala Moana Hotel in Honolulu. He said that issue #4 should be out next month. It seems that Greg has taken over the printing job for the magazines --- as if he does not have enough projects to do! I just bought two issue #1 and had one autographed by Greg for my bud Bling at BPR.

Every couple weeks since January he has told me "should be out next week".
Now I am just waiting.

Still, I worked on layout of two articles for issue #5 so hoping for the best.

Issue #5 is full up.  So now it's only a matter of getting issue #4 sold in order to pay for printing #5.
Eventually things will get smoother.

Gary, I show no records, of a Gary Vogeler, even a complete server search shows no record/info on this name, even in any emails.

All subscriptions that have been paid for online, via PayPal or by mail in, have been updated, and I'm 99.99321% certain that everyone who signed up, got their copies.

Good to see #4 out and about.

Does anyone have issues 1 & 2 in good condition, they could spare?

We have a local guy down here, who would like them.

Thanks

Greg,

I have to say that when I went to the page indicated by Jairus for subscriptions, there only seems to be the e-version option... so I didn't go any further. A couple months ago, a friend in the States was going to subscribe and then forward me the copies, but was never able to get a subscription either (I'll ask him what current status is...).

We'll keep trying.

Don

Don, yes, for foreign subs, we have put those on hold for now, until the whole periodical permit pending status gets changed/updated with the post office.

We are trying to get other options going for distributing to the overseas guys. You can always get copies from Scott at PCH, he is selling a lot of them with his overseas/foreign orders.

One thing I never did get to try was using eBay's Global Shipping option. I may try that once to see how that would be. I would ship a copy to their global shipping address in Kentucky, or somewhere, and they handle the rest to the other country.

But then, that's double postage for the buyer also.

John, thanks.

Greg, I was talking about getting a US subscription - it would go to my brother in Chicago and he can forward, probably with the other magazine i get, Model Car Racing, which should hold down the postage a bit...

I really didn't see a place on the page where I could just get a normal subscription! Point the way and I'll subscribe!

Global Shipping is a total ripoff for us - much more expensive, plus it charges customs fees on items where we normally never have to pay anything! Of course, it offers protection, but in that case you can just get regular priority or insured shipping, which doesn't seem to be any more expensive... And I haven't lost anything from the States in a long time; that seems to be a bit better tracked than before, even for uninsured packages (which arrive here with a barcode on them, probably from the French PO, so at least the last mile is tracked somewhere, and that is probably where most things disappear!
