Greg,

The pictures are wonderful, I am amazed there are no bugs on your windscreen.

Stay safe.

Guess the bugs are quick enough to dodge a Model A.  :D

Greg called again to say that the motel they are staying in is having WiFi problems and an update might not be possible this evening. He and his son are taking in dinner and if the internet is not available... he may not be able to post until they find another source.

He also said that they made it to Denver this afternoon via Hwy 287 and saw some beautiful country along the way. Said he took at least 50 pictures and will need to weed through them to decide what to post.

Greg is thinking about staying two nights in Denver in order to connect up with a Model A shop in the area.

Ron,

To be honest with you, I edit out the fuzzy bug blotches in the through-the-windshield shots using the stamp tool.

Gentleman that I am, when we couldn't get on the hotel's wireless, I asked the lady desk clerk if she had a tech support number for the company that manages the hotel's wireless access point. Gave them a call and the tech on the other end quickly determined that their switch had gone bad. When Geoff and I headed for dinner, their maintenance people were working on it and sure enough when we got back, all was well.

Geoff says when he went to the front desk before we went to eat there were about four or five other guests raking the desk clerk over the coals because they couldn't get online... LOL!

All is indeed well. The Model A is purring like a noisy kitten.

Same as the last few days... I'll post in the morning when I am not quite so tired. Jairus is right: I think I have some great pics.

While this is true, it's also to give my sore butt a chance to recover. LOL!

There's a lot of layers in this cake, Zip.

It would probably be more accurate to call the trip a diversion as opposed to a holiday, at least on one particular level.

Greg, are you using ethanol or non-ethanol gas?

If ethanol, I hope once you get home and are not driving it all the time, you add some treatment to it.

I want to see a photo with Greg in the car with his ear to ear grin.

Ethanol gas, Pablo. While I have seen some non-ethanol gas, and filled my five gallon can with it once, it isn't generally available.

I'l see if Geoff will take the requested pic for you.

Wow, that is indeed some beautiful country you passed through yesterday, Greg.

That Post office/restaurant also looked like it may have done business as an auto repair shop as well, evidenced by the garage doors. Unless it's really old and that was the barn for the Pony Express riders' horses. ;- \

Great picture of the Model A in front of the post office. It looks like it belongs there. I've driven past there hundreds of times.

We've used slotted snow fences here in the northeast since before I was a kid. Many were installed in the fall and removed the next spring. Now, most of them have been replaced with bright orange vinyl fencing.

As mentioned above… those fences are for keeping snow drifts off the highway. Where they're placed is a matter of noting where the wind blows the snow…. :D

Greg, if you go some of the beaches in SoCal there'll be somewhat the same kind of fences to keep the sand from being blown down streets... I didn't grow up with snow either...

Just talked to Greg on the phone. He has found himself and the car in the middle of a gold mine as far as parts and service are concerned there in Denver. His next post promises to be a great one. He is one happy camper, uh driver/owner!!!

Doug is correct. The car is getting can-do care from a true Model A mechanic IMO. I should pick it up tomorrow.

Sir, please take advantage of that opportunity to ask him about preventing ethanol problems in your "new" car.  :)

Forgetting about protecting your collector car from internal damage caused by corn-laced fuel could be very painful.

Stabil-360 will protect the entire fuel system. Anything with a metal gas tank should use it. Ethanol is corrosive and also absorbs moisture from the air. This combines to cause serious damage to metal fuel system components.

Ethanol fuel is not only hard on everything from the metal to rubber components it will also reduce your mileage. I run Shell because it's not "supposed" to have ethanol in it.
