Hmm, let's see it's 11 in Paris, so... 5 am Eastern time...! good lord Greg, what are doing up at that ungodly hour?
No wonder the US is going to hell in a handbasket.
I hope you take the time for a café au lait and a croissant at least. (on the other hand, made some biscuits yesterday afternoon, and they were greatly appreciated by our French friends during the rugby match - France killed by Ireland, oh well).

Rules and registration info were posted previously. He is just bumping the info. Bob would have done it himself but some sensitive people didn't like his state flag.

Guys,
Any banning of members is a lot more complicated than you think, and is not a decision taken lightly by moderators - I know because I'm a mod on another forum.
We're lucky enough to have people who organize these proxies for our enjoyment, and it would be nice to support them. This information has all been around for awhile.

Sam,
Did you really post the above?
You're the guy who digs up pics of old slot cars, on eBay, that some 12-year old kid innocently scrawled a backwards swastika on, 45 years ago, and makes a federal case out of it... repeatedly.
Like Don said above, banning someone is not a decision taken lightly by moderators.
Bob got banned here, by Cheater, and on OWH, by Paul Kassens, based on his body of work, not just one last incident.
Whatever happened last was just the final straw, that broke the camel's back.

Personally, I'm not getting caught up in all the drama.
... and was told
"Sorry to drag you in Nick, I don't blame you."
"Tell them this proxy is now postponed or completely cancelled as now I have no way or where to promote it."
Thanks, guys.

a contender!
Nice Don. H Power messaged French rewind? How appropriate.
Mantis repop? Did Dynamic make one? I'll have to look.
What chassis clearance did you end up with?
#243

Yep, an H-Power rewind, finally got to put one in a car!
Don't know where the body came from; maybe a more modern repop, since it's pretty wide, 3-1/4" or so... I got it this way, painted like that, but no memory of where.
1/16" or a bit more clearance in the front, but probably less in the rear, since I kind of screwed up when turning the tires (kindly donated by Bob by the way). If it ever runs, will have to redo a pair.... (just got out my gauge and clearance in the back seems to be close to 0.90 mm - that's not a lot!) So much for eyeballing it on the tire truer...

Sorry, not doable, the Sams are too labor intensive and costly to repop. I did give it a run................

Nice Don, but probably no match for this baby I picked up at the slot car swap meet in Highland, In., earlier today.
Authentic factory Dynamic bottom pan and tape.
I'm not an expert on the subject, but I think the interior is made from a rolling paper, nicely torn away, to provide proper cooling for the 26D.

Don , tell me more about the frenchy H wind ? is that a 26 can or 36 ? Did Mr H do a write up on his tweeking the French motor ?
#249
Posted 08 November 2015 - 05:57 PM
Paul, it's a 26D, a pure H-Power product, nothing to do with a French... It was a couple years ago, and I don't think John did a write up on it... Looks like 28 wire, maybe a 50 turn... Not sure John would remember exact specs, unless he's got a little black book hidden somewhere...
Mike, that's a beauty, I'm sure I couldn't stay on the track with that one!

Don,
Since I posted, I put on a 1/8" axle and some Protrack silicone coated sponges on it.
It runs real well.
About what a LaCucaracha will do.
While crude, it's weighted down real well.
Along with a big brass weight on the guide, it has one of those screw on bar weights, not only on the guide/drop arm, but another one, buried under the tape , along side the motor.
Anyway, it was well worth the $15.
Going to these shows is real depressing to a raceway owner.
Lots of guys who apparently like slot cars, but don't get out and actually race them, or if they do, it's in their basement.
