I'm thick too when it comes to rules... ask the IRRA guys..LOL
Not 100% clear on what you're asking.
Are you asking if you can put 36D brushes on a Mabuchi 16D? Yes
Can you put elephant ears on a Mabuchi? No
Can you put a Ram arm in a Kemtron? Yes
Can you put a Mabuchi 36D in a Dynamic motor carrier designed for a Tradeship? No
Too many options for me to hit them all... What are you thinking of doing?

Motors can only be used in the motor mounts made for them.

Okay, I may (or may not) get it now based on the examples you gave last post. Motors can be "hot rodded" (parts added, glued, soldered, replaced, and modified) as was done in the 60s? Using only original 1960s parts, I assume? If it was not available or done in the 60s, it's a no go (arms are the exception).
Motors can only be used in the motor mounts made for them.
"Blueprinting" is allowed.
Shunted brushes allowed.
No modifications to the Dynamic motor mount (bracket).
Phil, Parts added... ???

Taking a Dynamic Mad Hornet (which, as you know has none) and adding post protectors is an appropriate example of adding parts. I meant nothing more than that.
As you don't object to my previous post, I'll take it that you agree.
Does anyone else have additional thoughts on the motor rule?

Dad had a '67 Cougar with a "Dan Gurney Special" package on the 289...I think all it was was a dealer installed chrome dress-up kit...
I
Not a Ford guy and can't picture the 67 DGS but I sure like (love?) the Eliminator in orange.
Glad you have that vivid memory still!

Vintage and/or modern parts including mags and arms what with the "open armature rule" so if you wanted to shove I15 internals into a Russkit 22 it's fine.

I try to be clear on this stuff.... must be missing the mark.
Motor parts up until 1970.
Armatures up until 2015.
The motor must fit and be installed in the motor mount (carrier, pod .. etc.) that is was originally designed for (and marketed as) without modification.
Tech/Judging will be done on Slotblog by the racers who are entered (your peers) If anyone wants to slip in neo magnets that will not show up until the car arrives.
Phil, a Mad Hornet with spring post protectors is 'legal'
Paul, a .480 PK 24 single is legal.
There will not be a protest teardown or claimer rule.
Hope that clears it up and we can move forward and not have motor start rules sucking all the fun out.
Jump back in if this is still Not clear.

In some discussion of Dynamic parts it has been mentioned that they made a wire drop arm kit to fit their chassis. If anyone is interested there is one on ebay now, packaged in the early logo.

I have been wondering why we haven't heard much from about half of the others who have "signed up"?
There are a few of us posting semi-regularly (if that's a term ) here...but...what of the other entrants...?
This is my first Proxy race and I got sorta psyched about it, and want to continue, so...I'm still in it, and we are wondering if there are gonna be any changes in other people's plans, I guess is what I'm trying to say...?

Just scored a set of NOS "Sloppy Sams" for my entry. Paid dearly for them since they are as rare as Hen's teeth. A Rgeo repop brass guide tongue will replace the fragile original. Just need to get a set of modern Pro Track rears and will do some testing on Slots-A-Lot's Kingleman and Drag Strip. Oval testing will be done at the World Famous Port Jeff Raceway. (PJ Raceway).
Any correspondence with Bob can be done by email at farmallacres@earthlink.net
The race will go on as planned.
I have some NOS motor brackets. If anyone is interested PM and I'll send pics via phone.
