You want this one? I have time to make myself another one before the race.

I'm not in a huge rush, so your choice. I won't race until September now.

Let me know.

I never know my schedule or when I'll have parts. I'd take this one.

Another take on a center weight Beaver tripod. All rails are .047" wire. Center pan is .025". Bud's front axle, Chicagoland tongue, Duffy nose piece and old style Duffy bracket lightened. The wheelbase is 4" and guide lead .850.

53 grams which should setup at 102 grams. Think it will be good on Fast Eddie's hillclimb next weekend.

Tony I enjoyed your build video and got a lot of great tips from it. Thanks for doing that.

I'm wondering what iron you use? Where can I get one?

Glad you enjoyed it. I use the Hakko FX601 I get on eBay. Not sure if any slot dealers carry them.

Best iron I have ever used. Turn the temp adjustment all the way up and let it rip.

Nize!

I watched most of your chassis build video and you talked about chassis flex. There was background noise and I could not understand what you said. Would you care to give your thoughts on chassis flex here? Thanks Tony.

Basically, the chassis flexes 2 ways. Twisting and up and down ( push down on the motor while it's on the test block). The twisting flex gives you traction in the corner while the up and down flex is traction off the corner. Think of a dragster it triee to drive the rear wheels under the car as it accelerates.

You can have a chassis that is pretty soft twist wise but stiff up and down and it will be loose off the turns. Back years ago when every one was using .078 mono rails or dual .063 rails I built the first .047 multi rail chassis to try the replicate the flex we could get up and down and twisting with steel center sections. Those first multi rail cars did what I was expecting and were killer. Now everyone pretty much is using some form of multi rail cars made of thinner gauge wire to control the 2 movements.

My back up race car for this weekends GRRR series race at Holly Hill.

18 rails of .039 wire, .025 pans and a Duffy prototype nose piece. Duffy 2 degree steel tongue.

I went shorter on this one as that is what seems to work on that track when the bite is good. It was good in practice last week, just needed more motor.IMG_0098.JPG IMG_0099.JPG

This was a chassis Duffy and I were working on before he passed. The idea is to center the mass down low around the motor. I dug out the center and finished it up this week and I'm finally going to try it.
Center pan is .032 and brass pans in back on floppies is .040. .063/.047 main rails and it comes in at 51 grams. 45d8ad45d6c668288fcf29d6e370d9be.jpg

Though it is a little socially awkward can you tell us how much Bridget weights and how long she is?

Her bite bar bears a striking resemblance to the one in post #96.

Nice looking chassis Tony.

in the photo it looks like the bite bar is just laying on the chassis.

It must be connected to the main rails?

I see one other possibility.
