I like the original with Ike singing the intro.

May Tina Turner rest in peace.

My sister, who was about 14-16 at the time, told me a story of her and one of her girlfriends going over to Tina's house several times (it was about 3 miles away) and looking through the windows and traipsing through the backyard hoping to see her. No one was home. This was when Tina was still married to Ike and celebrities didn't live with security cameras and personnel 24/7. Ties have changed.

Tina was someone who had it all, lost it all, and then made it back bigger than ever.

R.I.P. Tina Turner.

Coincidentally one of my sister-in-laws is is vacationing in London and was at the Tina Turner play, yesterday.

They learned about her passing during intermission.

They had a moment of silence at the start of the 2nd half, and then the rest of the play was extra raucous.

I met the lead singer of this band, Speed Limit, a couple of years ago.  He told me when they did this video, Nancy Sinatra was in attendance and gave a thumbs up.  Sadly Keith recently passed away.

Lately I've been lacking inspiration to do something new. I think I just found it. Learn to play a harp guitar. This Scarburough Fair cover is amazing.

The Smoky Nights - Home

(Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros Live Cover)

Sadly, our favorite local band, The Smoky Nights, have broken up.

We were privileged to attend their last public performance. Shortly after that show, Anthony Nguyen and Lilly Nguyen were divorced.

Lilly has formed a new band "The Lilly Bethke Band" and Anthony has returned to teaching guitar.

That's thirty minutes away. I'll be there in ten.

Not so much a cover band  as a cover of a B.B. King song.   Bootleg of Peter Green  "I've Got a Good Mind to Give Up Living" on YouTube.  Eight minutes of live blues guitar bliss!

Here's a couple of EXCELLENT covers by America's favorite clown, Puddles. First up, some Pink Floyd:

And some Black Sabbath:
