One of the rules changed was to not allow the refurbed motors.
So, yes they WERE allowed in the series.

It was legal to refurb the 4002-B, when that motor was still legal, per IRRA® rules.
"Motors must have seal intact and be in strict accordance to the IRRA motor policy, may be sent out for refurbishing by an approved rebuilder"
It was never legal to refurb a 4002FK in the IRRA® and it never was legal to refurb them in the Mid-American Hardbody Series.
As far as it being legal in CISS, here are their current posted rules for motors:
Pro Slot #4002FK ONLY.
May change brushes and springs.
Seal must be present and original.
Commercially available heat sinks allowed.

Opinion noted, Eddie.
But if this thread is going in the direction of vituperative posts that don't add anything to the discussion, I'll be twisting the key in the lock...

It's my understanding that there at two racing orgs that allow refurbed FK motors. As Mason implied when starting this thread, no one had seals made to try and cheat the rules. These motors with these seals are not allowed run with that "other" retro org, only allowed in the two orgs that allow re-built FK motors. Of course unless you're allowed to race with refurbed FK motors at your local raceway, then you can, too.
Geeeezzzzz... will it ever end?
I just reread this.
Frankie,
Whare does Mason imply that no one had the seals made to try and cheat the rules?
Why would they possibly be made othwerwise?
Is there an org that allows counterfeit stickers?

Mike,
Robert stated: "Trying to get this out to all the tracks and series in the area. Someone in area has printed up some Pro Slot vinyl motor seals. These stretch when you pull on them rather than tearing like the original ones."
He's implying "someone in area" and that the sticker is not the same as the original ones from PS, along with suggesting tech folks should keep an eye out for them. Simply trying to make those aware that are running the FK motors, I assume. My guess is if he knew they were legally refurb motors, he'd probably never posted. Again, just my assumption and Robert can answer to that, I could be wrong.
Seals have been copied in the past for a different motor (not a Pro Slot) that was used in a different race series around here. And they were well done at that.

Frankie,
"... if he knew they were legally refurb motors"
Are you kidding me?
A) There aren't legally refurbed PS4002FK. Show me the ruleset that allows them.
B) And if it was somehow legal, how can a counterfeit seal be OK?
Regardless, here's his follow-up FB post to his original one, the same one that appears here in post #1.
Robert Mason: "The sad thing is the guys doing this are already some of the fastest guys in this part of Ohio. No need for them to cheat."
Is that clear enough to you now he is warning tech directors about racers purposely cheating?

ALL this is why sealed motors are pure crap.
When someone counterfeits a motor seal the problem is not with sealed motor racing. The problem is with the sealed motor racers. At least the ones making and or using the bogus seals.
I propose that any person found making or using counterfeit seals be banned from any racing for life. With no possibility of parole.

Mike,
I never once said it was okay to cheat, seals, brushes, short or long shafts or whatever...
I was told there were orgs that allowed refurbed FK motors and that there are refurbed FK's, but no I don't have copies of the rules nor a refurbed FK motor.
And yes sir, you did make something perfectly clear.
Enjoy the rest of your day, Mike.

In regards to the Mid American Hardbody series, my official response to this can be found on my FB page.
We did allow refurbed Puppy Dogs in the past. This is the first time I have seen a 4002FK motor with a "Fast Ones" seal on it.
I was not at the track last night, and was not able to discuss it with the members. I plan to address this issue with the members next time I see them.
The Hawk 6 has no seal whatsoever and is legal. We have a $20 claimer rule on motors listed in our rules to prevent the desire to use something that is blueprinted or out of stock form. So far that seems to have been working.
There have been no motor issues in our series up to this point. Competition is close.

There have been no innuendos, insinuations, or implications here. And Greg wants to keep it that way. So he is above that.
