You'd think you would need Oval shaped Wheel arches to 'accomodate', that amount of Movement,..Nice work though.
Do you have a similar car to compare the More Forward position of the Motor?,..handling/lap time wise ??
Just wondering what your 'observations' were?

The lap times were comparable on all 3 chassis`s but the sloppy did slow it down about a tenth to a tenth and a half. So I`ll tighten it up and try it again. Ya just don`t know where the edge is till you step over it.

This is safe to guess that the duel motor brackets are legal thru the IRRA rules?
After all, it's not a solder together three piece side, it's definite built with a folded 3-sided bracket. Just a couple of them!
May we get an official ruling announcment of this type of build?
Thank You!

But this one is different than the one you looked at at Rt. 93. This one should conform to the rules as stated. It has a one piece motor bracket I folded up with longer sides to move the motor forward and a rectangle support made of .055 piano wire with a brass insert that contains the sortof carrier bearing in the middle. We`ll see.
Anyway ya go I`ll have to limit the play on the last one but don`t want to play with it at all till I find out the legality of any of the motor forward stuff I`m playing with. No sense in wasting time if it`s not legal. It`s a Prototype thing I`m just playing with.
Race on!

Perhaps the last frame to be built with the kits that Chris had at BPR?
Wheelbase is 3 7/8", guide lead is 7/8" and the frame weighs 50 grams as pictured.
Parma fronts opened up to run on a .078" axle, and with bigger O-rings ground to an actual 5/8", not the undesize 5/8" that Parma put on the packet...........
Enjoy, Mike!

Ken, it's an optical illusion, but I see what you mean. Trust me, I spent so much time getting the angle of that guide tongue right, I KNOW it is the right way up!

Just finished this one for all-time good guy, Mike Kravitz:
Perhaps the last frame to be built with the kits that Chris had at BPR?
Enjoy, Mike!
Well.... ... Not quite....
( Maybe if I post this w/ Dennis' photo, it'll make my struff look as good! )
I'm fortunate to know many of the "great builders" here in SoCal, ( although I find it difficult to included myself, truthfully... ), & often we trade parts & do "G"-jobs for each other, depending on if we have access to the required machinery... So, when Paul Sterret asked for a quick job to facilitate tech-inspection at "the Checkpoint", I agreed... Needless to say, when he thanked me & then handed me this Racer .050 nosepiece, that Chris had at the counter a few months back, I was ecstatic... So, wanting to relax prior to Friday night's RetroPro race ( 3 hrs. to chenge-out a stupid Big Dog arm ... Murphy was with me, every step! ...) I took a pr. of my Slot Tech Services .025" side pans from back in... er ... '86, & built this sucker in 4 hrs. ... ... Every rail, except the piece that re-inforces the rear axle tube, which is .062, is .055, as per the suggestion of Mr. Bob Crane... It includes the floating bite-bar concept, as shown me by Craig Correia ... This should work well as a flat-track car, & still be light enough to run on the King... 3.890 wheelbase, w/ a .655 guide lead....
I know Mr. Kravitz will enjoy that chassis, Dennis.... Your typical excellent workmanship, second to none... Always enjoy looking at your builds...
Thanks, guys... Oh, boy! ... ... "The Checkpoint" is ALMOST here! ... Good luck to ALL our racers !!!

This is an attempt at making a Tony P type Aero chassis but not a exact copy . I think It came out pretty good and the action seems nice and it took quite a while to do . It weighs in at 69 grams as pictured with the bearings and the WB is 3.75 with a .997 GL and that is 4.77 from rear axle to the flag. Sorry but no tumbler so this is how it looks all comments welcome.

I'm wondering if I'm seeing correctly, Joe. Is only the two very oustside pieces of brass actually hinged, and the two "inside" pans are soldered solid?
Sorry for the poor photo quality.
No the inside and outside are hinged. On the inside pans it is hinged up in the front and in the mid to rear of the chassis.
The outers are hinged at the far rear and the U hinge at the front of the outer pans.
