I draw a 3D plan on some paper and set about building this frame on my retro pro jig.
I still have to add pin tubs but I will have three on each side I think for some options.
Main Rails are .063"
S7 Steel Guide holder
Front Brass .063"
Guide to Axle 4.75"
Width 3.0"
Wheelbase 3 15/16"

Here's one I just finished for Noose:
We will have to wait for him to run it to get some performance feedback, I have not had the time to build one for myself yet.

The sweetness of shiny brass and piano wire.
Good job, Dennis!

I really like this one. I was thinking how to make a tri-pod stiffer with out a cross brace in the middle..Thanks for an idea. OR TWO!!

A few months ago Nesta asked me to build him a chassis to fit a 1953 Corvette hard body. At first I was a little hesitant to build something like this but agreed because this guy will do just about anything for others. The following is what I came up with. Thank you Ken Dylke for the inspiration.

Looks like we are all thinking in angles at the moment.

It's a Killer! Exceptional design for the King track. Ran it with an OS Ferrari, PS, and Alpha Medium Wonder and got 2nd TQ with it.

The basics:
Plumber design, one .063 piano wire main rail, one .063 brass rod rail, 4.25" WB and .975 GL. Modified BWA bracket to obtain hypoid effect and installation of shaker pin tubes. Total weight with body, etc. came in at 109 grams. Only one other thing was done since these photos were taken and that is that the front axle has been wire tied.
Testing was done with a Lotus body, PS motor and Alpha Treated Rears.

Cool chassis, Mark! You say "punched everywhere".... you never have to lift? Retro Can-Am body?
I borrowed that phrase from Mike Steube. It means punched in the donut, bank, deadman. Blip only. I like the Toytech Ti 22
Thanks for the compliment.

My pics are not that great and I hope that they are not too big, Greg.
The plate in the back is one of Mike Swiss's "Brackagra" plates that was trimmed for just the motor bracket.

What's the function of the two rearward-facing pieces of tubing? "Retro" rockets?

That's a new way of thinking on both weight and dampening. I have noticed a difference when using double sided tape to hold weight vs super gluing. I like the tape better. .Thanks for the kind words guys. The two rearward facing pieces are brass rod and not tubing, just there for some added weight that could be changed or removed in a hurry and without affecting the flex of the chassis. Also hope that they may dampen vibration.

Been real busy lately working my new job and then coming home and building chassis. My latest may look like one I posted a few weeks ago but it is the sister car (finally, one for me) to the build that went to Japan. It's a reasonably close copy of the TonyP AeroPod with subtle differences.
Then, I had some time to build a 4.5" Nascar that I will be racing at the Western States. A simple Warmack chassis design. I ran a car like this last month and it was the class of the field.
